I've got a set of SBF Pro Stock Valve covers and I seen few sets with A/FX on them.
I also have a set with NWS (Nationwise Rod Shop)....Remember them? I'll try to get some shots of 'em tonight.

The SBC covers look like Weiand covers that someone swapped the names over. And the intake looks like an Edelbrock torker. Maybe the foundry thought they would just make a few bucks on the side or something. They are definitely nice parts though, especially since you don't see a pair on every car at the shows.....

I remember those. They almost looked like some odd manufacturer tooled up a pretty nice set of covers (note the thicker material around the bolt holes) and then couldn't find a name brand to carry 'em, so they filled the space in with "PRO/STOCK". Somewhere out there is a guy who knows the story...

Really a lot of what is interesting to me about the speed parts business is, some of the characters behind it. I've read stories about Edelbrock, Hrudka, Iskenderian etc., but there must be a thousand others at the small-time level. Like, maybe the guys who made those covers.

"Pro Stock" speed equipment from the 70s ??

Over the years I've managed to snag various parts here and there, and ones that I always liked were ones that were marked Pro Stock. I've got a set of BBC and SBC valve covers, along with a single plane intake for a SBC. Does anyone know the history of these parts? Who made them, and when? Any ideas what other parts they produced? Here's a pic of my BBC pair to show what I'm talking about.
