I know nothing about them, but it looks like a real compressor. Mine is that size, I got it used almost 20 years ago, still running strong. I can sandblast with a 1/8" nozzle, and it'll keep up, but any bigger and it is past it's capacity.

I don't know those folks but it looks like a decent unit. I have a Delta that was sold at Sam's Club for a while and maybe still is. So far it's been OK and I've had it for 5 years or so. % HP w/60 gallon tank and 2 stage. Seems about the right size.

Before I read your post completely I was going to suggest a 2 stage. Eaton is a well known name. Looks like a pretty good unit from the specs. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I think you'll love it. All the compressor you'll probably ever need. Good luck and let us know how you like it.

don't do it.. wire 220 and go.. 120v will do small jobs but you'll not like the electric bill..
            220 is cheaper to run..

I have a single stage pump. and it does the job, it is loud, and I 2 stage would've been better,, but I payed 399.00 for my 60gal 5hp single.. so I can't complain..
looks like a nice unit.. cast iron lung.. low rpm.. 1900 from a retailer, 1400 direct what the shipping gonna add

Let me clarify this question. Who makes a good 120 volt air compressor?

depends on what you want it to do..
air gun, sand blaster (spot) , small paint jobs, and don't mind having to wait for it to refill..
if you want to use air tools , paint more than a small panel or even think of sand blasting, forget it..
nail gun, yes, air brush ,yes, air hammer/gun ,no(you'll run out of air before you get 5 lugs off)
                  air grinder, no.
                  I had a 35 gal 120v.. and a 35 gal gas powered, I'd do fuel before 120 again..
                  good luck..

For 120 I'd look for an older compressor, one with a belt and dipstick. you won't be able to make very many cfm with it, but it'll run air tools (you'll get lots of beer/smoke breaks if you try to sand), and you can paint with one.

THe compressor doesn't need to be in the shop, either, mine is outside.

Right now I have nothing, & I need something to pump up tires, run misc air tools etc. I know all about the benefits of CFM's & painting/sanding/sandblasting. I will eventually get 240 in the garage & upgrade to a better compressor.

you can get a little one at sears or walmart for not a lot of money, it'll handle tires, and some air tools like nail guns, impact wrench, etc. Any air tool that runs continuously will not work very well.

I'll echo - get one with a cast iron pump and a divorced motor... the 80.00 Harbor Freight 8 gallon unit I got for tires and floaties at the lake worked pretty well for what it was supposed to do. I had a Sears "5hp" that was 15 amps (2hp) and I hated it. I felt bad when I gave it to my dad. Replacement was a Campbell Hausfield from Lowes, another 15 amp "5hp", but muuuuch better. I like it for being somewhat portable. The next one will be more like the one Fine59 is looking at, and will be doghoused outside of the garage. Right next to the neighbor's bedroom window.
