Could have been. That was just....very ...well, that was just not right. Shooting the bird at safety and authority. Again, I've never seen anything like that at a half mile dirt track when everybody there (including the drivers) wre so drunk that nothing mattered. That was just awful. That was a crime, caught on video.

the finger thingy I could care less about, but I think Mark has a point. The dude seems to be pretty hair triggered. He's gonna screw around and get somebody hurt. They don't seem to care much, cuz it probably sells more tickets. Americans love drama.

I'm going back to being bored with it - hope nobody gets killed cuz this jackass can't keep a lid on his testosterone.

          hahaha.

the first racing I ever watched was unity in maine in the 80s..much like that.
always fun, just a bit wild. I guess ricky craven raced there.

today, as I always believe in evolution..
serious drivers could take the whole league into 200+ mph and serious.

the backwoods stuff needs to get left behind.

Yes Kyle is the guy who got "headlocked" by a 65 yr old guy....Also - Kurt, Kyle's big brother..... got his eyes blackened by Jimmy Spencer after he ran his mouth too much...its genetic - they can't help it and you can't fix it. sure is entertaining.

The problem is that he hasn't had his a$$ handed to him enough... boy needs to learn respect. Somebody NEEDS to black his eyes and crack his ribs. it'll add a little humility to his personality. something he lacks.

Nascar needs to pull his racing license till the end of the season. the boy has issues and needs time to rectify them.

As much as I love to hate baseball, my only favorite moment from it all was when the young kid charged the mound when Nolan Ryan beaned him and Ryan beat him to a pulp with his fists like a farmer would beat a rented goat. Ryan was about 50 years old at the time...or so I choose to remember.

Season recap: How the 10 title-eligible drivers fared
By Andrew Bagnato, The Associated Press
PHOENIX — Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and NASCAR star Kurt Busch are on better terms than they were a year ago, when Busch was involved in a highly publicized confrontation with Arpaio's deputies.

But it might be a stretch to call Arpaio and Busch friends. When Busch and his handlers showed up at Arpaio's office for a photo opportunity Thursday afternoon, Arpaio greeted him as "Kyle," the name of Busch's brother, who also races.

"I'm not a racetrack guy," Arpaio said later. "I don't get involved in racing."

Nevertheless, Arpaio was happy to declare Kurt Busch an honorary deputy one year after he was pulled over by deputies before the 2005 Checker Auto Parts 500. Busch is back in town for Sunday's Checker Auto Parts 500.

Last fall, officers pulled Busch over about two miles from Phoenix International Raceway after catching him driving recklessly. He became combative when they tried to determine if Busch was intoxicated. "You're only doing this because you're a Jeff Gordon fan," Busch was quoted as saying in a police report.

The report said Busch eventually submitted to a preliminary sobriety test, registering a 0.017 blood-alcohol level. That fell far below Arizona's impairment limit of 0.08.

Busch's Roush Racing employers kicked him out of his car for the final two races of the season.

Busch was issued a misdemeanor citation for reckless driving. He plea-bargained the charges to a speeding ticket, paid a $580 fine and agreed to perform 50 hours of community service, including filming a safe-driving public service announcement.

Thursday's appearance brought a brace of television cameras to Arpaio's office.

"I wouldn't do this with everybody, quite frankly," Arpaio said, "Because everybody isn't as famous as he is. But because he's famous, he can get the message out. His word means something."

Arpaio acknowledged that deputizing Busch may bring criticism.

"I'm taking a risk here, making you a deputy," Arpaio told Busch. " 'Oh, you're making a guy that you arrested a deputy sheriff, a special deputy?' Yeah, I'm doing that. He didn't commit murder or anything. He made a mistake. Everybody makes mistakes."

Busch smiled and nodded. Asked what he planned to do with the badge, Busch said, "I plan to put it up in the trophy room. It's something that's very special to me. It's a perfect memento to what's gone on the past year here in Phoenix."

The officer who stopped Busch, Sgt. Glen Poe, was recently wounded in a drug raid on the West Side. He was shot four times and lost part of his hand, a Sheriff's spokesman said. Poe is recovering at home and is expected to return to duty.

Arpaio also presented Busch with a copy of his autobiography and his bobblehead. He regaled him with a story about the time Arpaio, then working in Las Vegas, arrested Elvis Presley.

"I got more press locking up Elvis than I did for you," Arpaio said.

Then Arpaio told Busch to watch his driving.

"Be very careful," Arpaio said. "If you're stopped, I don't expect you to show the badge. Because I'll tell you, if you do, we're going to fire you and you're going to get two tickets."

                    I blame the parents.

                    Kyle said it himself:
"I been wrecked 4 weeks in a row..."

That's because all the other drivers know who he is, what he stands for, and they WILL NOT ALLOW him to come CLOSE to winning a championship EVER AGAIN.

Late in the year, points at stake, Kyle in the running, vigilante justice takes its course.

I respect any driver that wrecks Kyle Busch.

This is posted on NASCAR.com and is a cut and paste from that site.

After being parked by NASCAR for Saturday's Nationwide and Sunday's Cup race as a result of on-track actions in Friday's Truck Series race, Kyle Busch issued the following letter on Saturday night:

                        To all,

I've had a lot of time today to sit and reflect, and try to put my thoughts into words as best I can.

I want to sincerely apologize for my actions during Friday night's Truck Series race at Texas.

I apologize to my fans, all my sponsors, everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports.

After talking with my team, it's great to have their support and encouragement to assure me that there are better days ahead. Even though this took place while driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, I am sorry for how difficult this has been for everyone associated with Joe Gibbs Racing's Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series teams.

I'd also like to apologize to Ron Hornaday Jr., and everyone associated with the No. 33 team in the Truck Series.

I understand why I was taken out of the car for the rest of the weekend. NASCAR officials had to act, and I accept their punishment and take full responsibility for my actions.

As a racecar driver, the hardest thing to do is to sit on the sidelines listening to cars on the track when you know you should be out there competing. For this, I have no one to blame but myself.

Through a lot of support from the people around me, I feel like I've made a lot of strides this year, but this was certainly a step backward. Moving forward, I will do everything I possibly can to represent everyone involved in a positive manner. However, I know my long-term actions will have more of a bearing than anything I say right now.

                        Sincerely,

                        Kyle Busch

.................................................. .................................................. ................any psychologists on this board??....................Kyle needs ya!

While I think what he did is wrong, the timing of it was actually pretty good.Think about it,under caution minimized the damage that would have or could have involved other cars at much greater speed! He has to remember that he will get the same that he gives and that wont change until he does.

Mike - do you find it interesting he apologized to god and country and fans and sponsors and everyone on the planet, then thought to say "Oh yah, sorry I parked ya dude..." ?

When I played ball many years ago, I'd have been bench warming the rest of the season for intentionally blowing up like that. More than one of my coaches would have put me in the stands.

Meh. At least the brat has passion about it.
