LOL! What we have, what we need? I know that all to well. I have enough stuff to build to last me a lifetime. Combine that with working in a restoration shop and building a new shop for myself, There's not enough time. Won't stop me from hunting though.Originally posted by milner351 View PostI think it all comes down to what you have, what you need, and what you want it to do, nothing is out of the question for guys like us. I use to agree with no 4 doors. But when you have kids that fight over the door seat all the time you learn to adjust. Here's a pic of the Nova I put together for under $800.00 less the wheels and it was great. Like a dummy I sold the car when my son started driving and then it got wrecked. The best part of that car was you could drive and park it anywhere and didn't care if someone bumped into it.

Ah, the 2-door Dippys...stepfather had an '81, same dark blue as Bryan's(I titled-registered it for him for a while)....had Mirada wheelcovers on cop wheels. Ex-DOT car, 318 Lean-burn...wouldn't spin a tire on wet pavement, handled corners like a fat guy on a greased waterbed.
But damn, would float like a cloud on the interstate, 2-finger power steering...cold air, Dante's Inferno heater...swapped in a nice stereo... was like driving a big, comfy couch...would own another.Leave a comment:

Just my opinion only, but if you don't have enough know-how to reverse-engineer a car that isn't '65-'72, then either you need to learn or need to find a new hobby. There's only so many Chevelles.Leave a comment:

Ok what is the cutoff date for muscle cars? I say 72 and a bunch of the cars being talked about are later than that.Leave a comment:

They did, in two variations:

'77-'79, the "boat tail" coupes (my old '78 LeBaron pictured)

and '80-'81 (A friend's nearly-completed 408ci powered Diplomat)Leave a comment:

DIDN'T THEY MAKE 2 DOORS OF THIS.. remember a few passing though the dealershipOriginally posted by Remy-Z View PostIt really depends on the model. C-body Mopars, some B-body GM, the Fox LTD...Now, if they never offered a coupe it's alright.
I don't mind them personally. Nobody confused this for a stock 5th Avenue.

Something just seems more "international" about 4 doors since overseas the whole "2 door that's as big as a 4 door for no reason" thing didn't catch on... but then neither did 2wd SUVs.
I like the fact that a four door is an "open canvas." Since all the purists aren't going to like the car to begin with, you aren't constrained by anything. Build the engine you want, throw the wheels and suspension you want on it and go. It's like a huge rolling middle finger to the Barret Jackson types.
Plus, more doors are almost as "metal" as vans. \m/
