  • Joe Gibbs Racing is Weak

Darian Grubb's future with the Stewart-Haas, if any is unknown, although the Competition Director position remains unfilled. Greg Zipadelli [crew chief for #20-Joey Logano], according to several sources has been the frontrunner for that job but has been unable to secure a release from his Joe Gibbs Racing contract. Signed through 2012, those sources say the former crew chief for Stewart and current head wrench for Joey Logano has met with strong internal opposition from J.D. Gibbs to secure his release

just let the guy go , gibbs has a collection of spoiled brat drivers , closing the engine shop will make gibbs the next version of michael waltrip racing ....Zipadelli has been hot to go with stewart for years
    buy out his damned contract

That's kinda stupid. Who would want a crew chief that doesn't want to be a part of your team anymore. Are you going to get his best work that way? If Zipadelli is that unhappy at Gibbs, then just let him find another team.

It's already been announced that Steve Addington, former of Penske & Kurt Bush crew chief is the new crew chief for Tony. Maght as well let Zippy go anyway, he won't be doing his best for Gibbs......
There are very few people in this world who's opinion I value, you are not one of them.

yup, might as well let him go.... Why do people sign long term contracts then try to get out of them? Sorry, you gave your word that you were in it for X amount of time, quit bitching and live up to what you agreed to. (my take on pretty much any contract - loans, employment, etc. - you sign a bad deal that is YOUR fault, no one elses...)

If he took pride in his work, he would fulfill his obligation and work his damn hardest to make the team a winner.

no those that pride their work want results,, not to kill themselfs to be a 25th place team.. because the owner isn't willing to do whats needed

                              SpiderGearsMan:

I think you are being a little hard on Joey. Hell he is better then most the old guy's out there right now.

Yes is is young and learning but when you read his resume their are many drivers in the garage area that wish they have Logano's talent at his age.

The only other driver that came to NASCAR with that kind of driving record was Jeff Gordon years ago.

Tony is a great guy and I respect him very much for the things he does that most people never even hear about but he also is not easy to work for.

I am sure his dad would tell you the exact same thing.
