    Shark Fin Antenna???

I want to add a shark fin antenna to the roof of the hot rod truck. Should I purchase an aftermarket one or simply go to auto salvage yard and get one? Any thoughts out here?

The type of radio antenna you see on the roofs of new cars.
That which you manifest is before you.

i know my grandpas 2011 2LT/RS camaro still has a AM/FM but does not seem to have a seperite antenna unless it's built into the defroster grid like on my 97 merc and 99 GP

^^^ Mater - Your Grandpa's Camaro... That's badass. I don't even like the car, but that is badass.

Wrecking yard should be full of them - GM with OnStar would be a likely target. Maybe one of the techs can comment on the impedance, I believe your radio will want a 75 ohm load and I'm not sure what the Satellite antennas are?

I believe they are an all-in-one deal. A guy I knew in college was working on a project to put AM/FM/Satellite in one antenna back around 2002 before they fired him for showing up at 11am too many times.

First of all - nothin' wrong with the Camaro. I'd have something like that if I didn't need a trailer puller.

On the antenna - ME's HHR has one and it pulls stations really well. To the best of my knowledge it's an all-in-one deal and gets Onstar, radio stations, and the satellite phone. No clue on how it works - just that it does.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to a late model salvage yard and get one off a GM product. Although I have an aftermarket stero now, I should be able to make it work.
