Knew it... as soon as I say Rust and taunt the yankess.... exhaust bolts ferrrozen. GM 1, Beagle 0. lol.
Part two - the 4.3 pan sump is really short longitudinally. I need to stop speaking out of my butt I guess and see what the pan looks like on a 350/s10 conversion. This thing might be easier with a front sump.
/edit 2 - oowhoops, yeah, anything will need mods on a 2wd it seems.

14 is still a baby. even where I live.
rust is not the fail, the steel is. rust is pretentious result.
that is going to be a big engine with that little car. I'd treat it the same as here..hiding "good" steel is about your only benefit. Nothing hides here. I like rust. it is a truth.

2wd - with a Ford motor going in it's hard to say yet what will fit yet, they aren't as deep across the mains as a Chevy is based on comparing the two. There's a lot of room in front of the crossmember if you are willing to take out the nerf bar from the crossmember. It's a T shape think for keeping your curb and oil pan separated, not for structure. This could be entertaining yet.
MAN - this thing has some wires!!!Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Thanks Charles - I got around it. Impact -> 1/2 -> 3/8 -> Craftsman 15 deep. Wallah! Now onto the 800 connections, holy crap. I may say uncle for tonight. It's getting closer but I'm running out of light and energy. Gotta save some for momma and company or she's going to be pissed! lol.Last edited by Beagle; December 31, 2011, 04:12 PM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

I can't believe I'm helping you but it's your truck. ( JUST KIDDING) I've done three SBC engines into s-10 s. The first one was the 350 from a mid 70's 3/4 ton so just about any Chevy v8 will fall into a 2x4 truck. That pan mod you put up looks lie a pan mod for he 4x4 chassis. Best thing about this conversion is your distributor will be in the front, allowing for a better set back.Previously HoosierL98GTA
