Those jokes about a "stuxnet" type of virus are for real. Right now they are probably looking for a "cornficker' type of virus. that would be what they call a door kicker program, one which is designed to look inocent and harmless but actually is logging pathways and addresses (doors) so that "stuxnet" type of control manipulation program can then be efficiently implemented. I am sure that all of the teams have implemented policies which restrict the access to certain laptops so that they are never connected to the net... so to speak... classified computer hardware is sequestered from ordinary networks... private or public, - that is, they are physically seperated from other computers. Any device, thumdrive, stick, memory card/stick, cd, is now a potential championship killing device.
Allot of cash is gonna be spent on hacker programs...someone will find the way to slow down a competitor. This will be an interesting season. If hacking occurs, i wonder if Nascar will acknowledge it publicly?
