I just sold my Canon 5d II and all my L glass. Bought a Pentax 67 II with 5 lens' and Sekonic for film. Plus a Pentax Micro/4/3. Waiting to see what Sony does next with FF. I already have a ton of glass for it. That will for sure be my next Digital.

If I am in a hurry, grab my Nikon F2 or if I want to go street shooting, my Yashica lynx f1.2, the ultimate streetfighter.

Dad's 1965 Nikon F with extras. Also, his '85 Canon Sureshot with extra lens. Bonus, Minolta 16 mm film developer can. And, an old camera bag.

A Capt. They always got all the good stuff. All I ever could afford was a Petri when I was in the service. Still, a fantastic camera that F model. Hope you use it. Thats the only way they seem to weather the years.

That was a lot of money for a Capt in '65. Dad bought it to keep him busy while sitting around on Shimya Island in between flights. Nothing to do there, but it did have a full photo lab for all those spy boys to use.

I had to make do with $100/month with combat pay.

Is that a 105mm lens in the second pic in the back, to te right of the camera? The perfect portrait lens.

                  It's a 13.5 cm 1:3.5 telephoto. The other is a 35 mm 1:2.8 wide angle.

Have you been able to take it out for a spin yet?

                    • Yeah, I've run a few rolls of film through it. I wasnt very good at setting up the F stop and over exposed some of it. Some of the first pics I took of my car were taken with that camera. I still have have a couple of rolls of film laying about.

It takes a tiny bit of practice, but the real trick is get to know one film really well and use it til it becomes instinct. I would stick with BW film, c41 for instance. Shoot, get developed at the nearest 1 hour photo so it is fresh in your mind the kind of light you wer working with at the time. After two or 3 rolls, you will have a very good feel for the camera. Set it at 125 at first and leave it there, only changing the fstop to get your exposures. Bracket f8, f11, f16

The whole idea is keep it very simple til you get a feel for what works, nail that, then branch out.
