Anybody know who makes them or where? While surfing at lunch, I clicked on to Summit looking at distributors for my wife's 69 Mustang. I'd like to upgrade at some point and not buy a Chinese part. I was thinking theirs was Chines but the price didn't look Chinese, more like a USA price. In the end I'll most likely stab in a Pertronix kit and I think I have one of their Blaster coils some place and call it day.

I have a DUI (the whole distributor) in the Camaro and it's been excellent. For some stupid reason (maybe they weren't out yet?) I didn't get the built-in rev limiter so I have their external one that uses MSD chips and it works fine, too. So I can say good stuff about them.

I would but I think I'm going to have some issue with the size. I am running GM style HEI on the Mustang of unknown origin but it's working well. Fed by a #12 wire.TomOverdrive is overrated

Seth's Summit distributor came apart in a very short time - the whole mechanical advance system literally flew apart and locked up the advance.
Like BBR - I've had good luck with rebuilt durasparks over the counter, $55.There's always something new to learn.

I don't worry about the electronics as much as the mechanical advance mechanisms / shafts / cam gear interface, etc. That's what flew apart in Seth's engine, and others.... I also had a friend recently whipe out a roller cam in a cleveland due to a mismatched timing gear that allowed too much cam end play.
With a mixture of parts suppliers - as most of our engines are - you just can't be too careful - measure everything! There's always something new to learn.
