And I raise you a DOHC 4v Pontiac Six from a DOHC 3.4L engine
I've actually seen this head in person. The LS conversion there might be closer to reality but this DOHC head is pretty cool and super light compared to the stock head. The owner wants to get back to R&D'ing the conversion.Escaped on a technicality.

They must. The guy is building headers and an intake for it now.Last edited by BBR; February 13, 2012, 10:35 AM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

A long-standing trick on the 250 Chevy six is a welded SBC aluminum head ala the LS/Ford head shown. There's a lot of crossover from the SBC to the inline six including bore spacing, bolt locations, etc. I can't run one because the port configuration is WAY different and I couldn't run in a Production class with it. Still, it's pretty cool.

The Buick V6 and the small V8's share the bore spacing with the Nissan VQ motor. Been plotting how to get those heads on a Turbo6 block but the deck scallops around the barrels in the Buick block are just about where Nissan put the head bolts. I've not looked into redrilling the Nissan heads but the only block that I can see working is the TA aluminum block since the deck is not scalloped.
And you people thought my idea of welding two SHO V8's into a V12 was crazy....Central TEXAS Sleeper

Interesting project, any more info on it? I remember back in the early 70's they use to cut and paste 351C heads on the 240-300 Ford six. IIRC the head bolt pattern was the same.
I guess about a year ago HR did a article on using different heads. One of the intriguing combo was a BBC block with Porsche 928 OHC heads.TomOverdrive is overrated
