                  I know how long it takes the allied guys to load and set up a modern trailer full of vehicles with all the electric hydraulic stuff, they don't have to do as much heavy lifting, but it's still a lot of work.

                  The guys driving these older rigs were real men, I can imagine all the lifting / tie downs were manual deals with ratchets, and there weren't cushy air conditioned air ride tractors then either!
                  There's always something new to learn.

                        Those drivers had brass ___s, no suspension under the truck, no air brakes, 80-120 hp motors hauling those loads slowly, no a/c, lots of heat, no syncros in the transmissions, no safety in the cabs - imagine coming down the Grapevine and losing brakes, you're dead...
