Apparently there is a movement, after all the wrecks this past weekend, to change the way NASCAR runs. Instead of a pack, they are just going to put the top two drivers from qualifying out on the track and let them fight it out juan-on-juan.

I hear TCR is considering making a comeback with a Jet Drier Jam Car this time.

Jaun other thing, from the video, I may be way behind as always, but the talkers were yammering about him having a big vibration of sorts going on, like that had something to do with the epic fail-crash. But with these eyes it looks to me like he just came hauling butt in there and got into the marbles the blow dryers were blowing, and around he went. In spite of his crew warning him on the radio...Jaun....watch out for the jet dryers....

I hope I don't do anything like that on The Mile....I would turn redder than Red if I stopped the event doing something so entirely off kilter and ...well, in a narrow moment pretty stupid. Though entertaining for sure. At least that event's not covered live on national TV....

if you watch closely, the was a puff of smoke out the right side of the car along with sparks right before it makes a hard right turn toward the truck. something broke and the rear appeared to lock up. this juan might not have been totally juans fault.

They run Detroit lockers in those cars, right? When those things fail bad shit happens in a hurry.
That which you manifest is before you.

I thought that "puff" looked a bit like water spray, like he hit a wet spot of track as he started laying into the throttle to catch up to the pack and started spinning the tires. It looked to me like he was accelerating, where as if the rear broke I'd expect him to be slowing down, unless if an axle snaps it suddenly sends twice the power to one wheel. But non-posi rear ends seem to go straight just fine.

Add to that thinking some tire stagger, and some banking.

I'm in no position to argue my point, it's just what I figured happened when I was watching the video. I wouldn't be surprised if the rear end broke.

If a locker breaks under acceleration it'll throw the car into the wall, but it didn't look like he was accelerating - you thinking the locker broke, stopped the left side wheel then it skidded into the truck?
That'd make sense... because he'd have turned into the skid (which would be the opposite of what he should have done in retrospect).

open differentials with a broken axle simply stop forward progress (this I know, very, very, very well).... detroit lockers throw the entire axle out of the truck, again, been there, done that, wrote the book, starred in the movie....
