This is wrong, but so is the permanent solution to temporary problems.
"Kurt Cobain" by Pinkard & Bowden:
You walked into your bedroom, like you were walking into a fog
Your hand strategically wrapped around your gun, you were emotionally sick as a dog
You had one thumb on the trigger as you gazed into the bore
Now all the band knows that they'll need a partner, they'll need a partner, and
Kurt Cobain, they'll probably do the next one without you
Kurt Cobain (Co-bain), I'll bet they do the next one without you, don't shoot, don't shoot!
We could have tried this several years ago, when you were still in your teens
Oh, but NOOOO, you had to go and bore us all with your flannels and worn-out jeans
But you gave up way too soon my friend, you could have learned how to sing
You had some dreams, now there's brains in your cornflakes, brains in your cornflakes, and
Kurt Cobain, they'll probably do the next one without you
Kurt Cobain (Co-bain), I'll bet they do the next one without you, don't shoot, don't shoot!
Well, I heard you would shoot up with heroin, I guess you were naturally dumb
And you drank yourself into a coma, cause you were totally sick of the grunge
But your mom said, "Son, don't join that club, with Hendrix and all the rest"
But you had the nerve and a round in the chamber, round in the chamber, and
Kurt Cobain, they'll probably do the next one without you
Kurt Cobain (Co-bain), I'll bet they do the next one without you, don't shoot, don't shoot!
Who's gonna clean up the couch and the carpet, couch and the carpet?, and
Kurt Cobain, they'll probably do the next one without you
Kurt Cobain (Co-bain), I'll bet they do the next one without you, don't shoot, don't shoot!
[To the tune of "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon, if you didn't guess.]Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Dang, look at it go! Over $20K so far...
Who in their right mind would....
Never mind, that's a rhethorical question. And a wrong one, too, apparently.
Lemme see.....should we paste all of this into Stude's Druggie thread? Maybe that's who's bidding....If that's so, where does the money...

I've got an idea....we could all put in a thousand dollars per each and set it up outside at Mike's shop in Michigan for the BangShift Jam and sell $5 hits with a sledgehammer. And send the proceeds to Mike's favoirte charity. That would be a fitting end, if we could all come up with the thousand dollars...
No, never mind that idea.Last edited by pdub; March 6, 2012, 03:47 PM.Charter member of the Turd Nuggets

^^^ Agree with Dulcich on this one. Nirvana blew up as I was just old enough to listen to their music. He and Nirvana were the engine behind the whole popularization of grunge rock.
Really? No one has mentioned the fact that the van smells like teen spirit? That which you manifest is before you.

I'll mock any man..... even while talking on my phone when driving.
I bet that van would cause a drug dog to go into cardiac arrest.
My opinion: I was a college student when Nirvana hit and I believe Nirvana was just in the right place at the right time. Their music actually kinda sucked (with the possible exception of SLTS) but MTV poised them on the grunge pedestal for all to behold and they instantly (and reluctantly) shot to stardom. Of course, that was back when MTV actually played music videos and we had it on all day long. Nirvana (and Pearl Jam) was at the top of their rotation, you heard their stuff at least once every hour. I heard SLTS and though wow! and went out and bought Nevermind and absolutely hated it. In fact I can't name a single other song that was on that album. Had MTV thrown their marketing/promotional might as strongly behind any other grunge band, Nirvana would have been a one hit wonder. I also think people over emphasize their contribution to music solely because the guy killed himself near the peak of his popularity.
Oh and the van is still a POS.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
