    Back to the Challenger....

Sounds like a great car to build with the intent of doing Drag Week. Build, write mag articles, have fun, meet cool people. Win, Win, Win, Win.

If I understand you correctly, here's an elephant that goes well over 200mph:

And here's one we're aiming to go over 300. Yes, Elephant powered (with help from 2x ProMod 91mm):

I know you can only drive one at a time.... so if you don't love the car there are lots and lots of other people that would give body parts for that car in good condition.

Perhaps it's best to get it in one piece, running driving condition, and maximize your profit margin toward what you'd rather be building.

I'm a big fan of the KISS principle - especially if you think you're going to sell it.

I'm kind of leaning in this direction, Miln. If I was to do anything with it, a T/A style car would make the most sense, four or five gear, small block, and a T/A hood. I mean, I would love to build and use this car, it could be a great machine, but I just don't need it considering some of the other cars I've got.

                  if I had it ......

I would rip out the rest of the interior, put in a full nascar type cage, upgrade the suspension for cornering, slap some decals on it to make it look like a 70s trans-am racer clone and drive it around on the street scaring people with it

Back when I had multiple vehicles people would ask why I has so many cars. My reply was, they're just like shoes, you need the right one for every situation.

Does anyone remember the Direct Connection kit cars of the early-mid seventies, where you could buy a whole body/chassis in parts, for circle-track racing? I only saw them in ads in Stock Car magazine and don't know how many were ever sold, but my recollection of the Challenger they had was pretty righteous, with a radiused-out wheelwells and a pretty raw look. That would be cool and cheap, to make a copy of one of those. Cheap, fun driver...

Most of the kit cars were aspen/volare bodies, though the builder could skin them otherwise. The development mule built by Direct Connection was a Challenger. Building a real replica of one of those would be anything but cheap. A very nice T/A replica would be a fraction of the cost and effort.

Low cost T/A style build up,should be easy with that nice body..use what you have there..you need a cage-2 seats and a black T/A hood...wider steel wheels or older old style aluminium rims..front and rear spoiler...and of course it should be down in the dirt, but that is easy on Mopars...Engine and trans could be anything that works and is cheap..the goal is to get it done in 14 days, and beat Brians Caprice with lower dollar investment...

fast, cheap, beat the Buford chevy..... this could get interesting.

Make a daily driver. Something anyone could wrench on Drop in a 318 or 360. Make it so you could drive it every day and then beat on it over the weekends.

Save it, not like these two I found in a barn. Sitting for 20 years.
