I was under the impression the Boss 302 blocks were the only production 302 4 bolt blocks Ford ever made.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Dude, you could have some literal gold there. 1969/1970 Boss 302 blocks were 4-bolt main on 2/3/4 web but this thing could be treasure if it is one of the unobtanium 4-bolt 289s that were used in the first GT40s.
Do you have casting numbers? I have a buddy who is a Ford-o-phile and is allergic to the internet. That's who I got this info from. There we no other SBFs made with 4-bolt mains.
Some 351 Cs had 4bolt mains, not all. -- (edit) -- the 4 bolt 351s are still worth some dough because they were the "good" engines R code and Q code. Still worth dough, but not as much as a Boss or GT40 block.Last edited by Brian Lohnes; April 26, 2012, 04:07 PM.That which you manifest is before you.

For reference, Cleveland blocks look like this.
The 302 is quite different at the front. The timing chain isnt encased by the cast iron of the block itself. I dont have any pics of bare 302 blocks, but they are easy to find. I have a 4 bolt Cleveland, they were all 4V head engines, mostly 71 and 72. The one in the pic is a 2 bolt. How much is a Cleveland worth? It depends on how bad someone wants it.

First indication of a 4-bolt Boss 302?... they all had screw-in freeze plugs. No screw-in freeze plugs?... it ain't a Boss 302. A legit Boss 302 block in good condition will fetch some $cratch. All Boss 351s had 4-bolt mains, as did some other hi-po 351C.Last edited by jcharliem; April 26, 2012, 07:42 PM.Nitrous, baby!!...
