    Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys died today of cancer. These guys were *the* pioneers at sample-based music. He was only 47 years old.

    Lots of us grew up to their music. Paul's Boutique is the shit!

      I heard about an hour ago, they really opened my eyes to other types of music..I grew up on country and oldies so when I fisrt head them I was floored....

          yup....the tail numbers on the plane read 3m ta3, it put in a miroe...eat me! thought that was funny shit when I was 10

                    First time I heard them I though they were a local garage band. Couldn't believe they were playing it on the radio. haha

                            I do remember when they came out.

                            I was more into the mixing, strange sounds.
                            less talk. I was drummer too at the time. I learned to like it later.

                            I did like them.
