So Im helpin the wife with her garage sale *sigh* and she asks if Im willing to finally get rid of my magazines stacked to the ceiling yet. I gave in and started goin thru them and ran across a couple this morning that I had to throw up real quick. My '60's and '70's are real interesting to look at again...

I did my magazine purge a few years ago.The only ones I kept were pre-1990 and only ones with cool cars, most from 1979-1984 because those were my impressionable years.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

Groucho - you are a lucky guy, ya know that? what a nice collection. dang.

I started reading mags when i was in high school, and i kept them all. I had allot, thousands even... all from 80 and later. I was moving, had no space to keep them and I found out that I couldn't even give them away. the libraries here didn't want them and niether did any of the schools. and the recycle man said they had too much ink to recycle them... so i fished through them and kept allot of the super stock and stock car racing and circle track.. they may have ebay value someday... but I had to pitch the rest. 'bout made me cry watchin' them go into the dumpster...probably 1000 sci am, nature, discover, astronomy, sky an telescope.. another 1000 of hotrod carcraft autobuff pop cars and numerous other titles. even pop sci and pop mech, guns and ammo, it's misting me up now just thinking about it...folks just don't want old mags... maybe a few can be worth a little bit on feebay but those are few and far between and you need to list them constantly... lotta hassle for little change.

Hell, I'll toss TV's and furniture before I let my 60's magazines go in the event of me moving. LOL

Gonna spend some time goin thru them later...like I said the 60's early 70's are the most interesting to look at. The thing I noticed right off that caught me was the mid '70's to '80 bombardament of full page cig/tobac adds...5 and 6 pages each mag!

Jus thought Id throw the pics of Freiburger and Phils car up cause I ran across them first. I figure Freiburger cant be but 12/13 there.

A few years ago a bunch of us on Power Tour brought our older magazines with us, to leave at the local veterans home that a pre-tour stop was planned at. I would bet each one was read many many times...

Question... Is your belongings "junk", and her's is " stuff" ?

Thus your junk gets garage saled while she gains space?

Not meaning to start fights, but to see if I am alone....
