      If everything on the outside is right, its in the vavle body. As cheap as they are, I wouldn't rebuild the old one.

        Useless link. This thing acts like a TH350 or 400 with the modulater set screw set too tight or the vacuum line's fallen off. But, that's not the case here. A local trans guy's telling me the lip seals are hard. In my experience with Fords that was called "morning sickness". That's when the lip seals got hard like plastic, and the trans would not go into gear until engine heat soften the seals in the trans enough to hold pressure. In other words, heat made it better. In my case, heat makes it worse. Also, as if the modulator set too tight, this trans is really sensitive as far as slight gas pedal application induces what I would consider premature kickdown into passing gear. And that's with me temporarily disabling the kickdown rod. So, can any transmission guys chime in here? Thanks
