  • Weekend plans?

I'm taking the family down to Glasgow, Ky to see my last living Grandparent, Nana...91 years old.
My Dad just retired from CBS in Hollywood and is in the prosess of moving to Parhump, Nv and my mom wants to mover her there this summer.
My Nana still has a car and drives, but my Mom wants me to see what I can do to stop that. I remember her driving sucked when I was a teenager. I don't think she drives much, she has a 2005 or something Cavalier with like 12,000 miles...We have a ton of cousins, aunts, uncles that live there that would help, but she is very independent. I'd like to just push this all off on my wife, lol.
If I make it that old you're gonna have to take my keys away....
What are you guys doing? Drinking beer and BBQing I'm sure!

Work and work, I do get Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off though. I plan on doing some more wrenching on the Mercury and a trip down to the beach AFTER all the tourists have gone home.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

Working on the Mirada. Going to try to tighten up the steering, got to do another oil change. Gotta look underneath to see if there's any leaks forming yet, and maybe I'll start grinding on the welds.
      Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!

"Remy-Z, you've outdone yourself again, I thought a Mirada was the icing on the cake of rodding, but this Imperial is the spread of little 99-cent candy letters spelling out "EAT ME" on top of that cake."

Somernites Cruise is this weekend if you get free time. We're headed to Gatlinburg just to get away. And I have shopping to do before heading to Seattle in a couple weeks

Sorry bostiches put me on call this week so I'm betting... work. It's okay, I got the week of July 4th off, which was a trick. It's amateur weekend at the lake though, so probably just as well. The lake's Ranger patrol will feed all weekend on drunks and be a general pain in the ass, like the 50000 kids with jet fleas. Texoma is a BIG lake and they'll still have it stirred up like a soup bowl.

Maybe a BBQ, I'll probably get the fire lit, put the meat on, ring ring. lol. You guys and gals be safe, the first big party of summer draws every aspiring dumbass right out of the woodwork. The DPS and every cop from here to the border will be thick on the road and probably quite busy. I saw two of them practicing their vulture routine yesterday, kinda jumped the gun but they could barely get parked before they'd peel off again for a new victim. I think I'll sit on the sidelines for this one.

On a more bumming note, I would have liked to gone over to the VFW at the lake and hung out with the Vets - particularly the old timers. They are getting fewer and fewer, and are a real hoot to talk to. My dad is 81, and likes bullsh*tting with them about back when. This is what it's about. They'll have a great big deal going I'm sure.

Driving to CT on Saturday to check out the new (rental) house. One month til the move. All I need to say about it are: 15 acres and 3-car garage!

Monday will be the local parade which is an awesome display of small-town Americana.
1967 Chevelle 300 2 Door Post. No factory options. 250 ci inline six with lump-ported head, big valves, Offy intake and 500cfm Edelbrock carb.

Getting together with the whole family in chicagoland - not looking forward to the traffic - but it's only a few times a year we're all togehter, hopefully we can synchronize the drives with Lee's nap time.

I don't know, I haven't listened to my wife about it yet.

Hopefully we'll get to play in a pool with a robot. Depends how my kids are doing with the programming.
