a town local claimed 6 inches in 24 hours. I live not far from it. I say wolf..
federal funding big is a big freebie to declare an emergency over railroad tracks getting a short lived stream under it...or a bad decision to drive into one and get killed. Adds drama.
meanwhile air force one took a rumbling route right over my aprtment building in the height of it last night.
I am sure federal is defensive about funding more than ever.

Nothing here yet but so far they expect it to pass by out in the ocean so we'll only get high tides and a lot more undertow than usual (we always have some). It has to cross Florida first (S_L_O_W_L_Y) then make it's way up the coast. We're not leaving town for this one!
Oh here in the middle of the state (about 30 mi north of Orlando) we had lots of steady rain and light wind... just what we needed. Some of the lakes and canals were down about 4 feet. We may have had about 10 inches over the last week.
Debby is just another thing that has slowed my progress on getting the C10 ready for the paint shop... but I'm getting there. I think it's going to look okay when it gets shiny.
Over here in Bradenton (west coast south side of Tampa Bay) we had strong winds and a lot of rain for 3 days but it is starting to quiet down now and we actually had some sunshine today.
I'm not sure what Barry was talking about but Debby for sure hasn't gotten near Maine yet. Maybe he was thinking about the last storm (Chris I think) that sort of started in the Atlantic and never did much.
It's pretty wet south of Tallahassee - 2 blocks from Dave The Bartender's place he took these pics.
Thank goodness - the Handle Bar in his shop survived though, wet floors but bar stools high and dry like a martini.
I understand Pasco county near New Port Richey is flooded - Big Ed Fury66 used to live there as did my Dad years ago.

For once we were on the good side of a storm and we had some pretty good weather despite Jim Cantore being on the beach. The news makes too much about most of these storms but they sure get the ratings... Just a few weeks ago we had 20 inches of rain in a day and a half... Then none since...
