    What happened?

What has happened to the 2DR coupe?

Aside from the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger, where have they all gone? I went with my girlfriend to pick up her computer from a friend of ours who works on Macs. (That is another story all in itself) His full time job is a car salesman at a local car dealership and we went there to pick up my GF's laptop after he had repaired it. He works for the local Chrysler dealership.

My 1998 Neon is a bit long in the tooth (pushing 300K miles) and off the cuff, I asked him what they had in a 2DR coupe that wasn't a Challenger. He replied: "A waiting list."

So many people want a small, sporty, fun to drive TWO DOOR car, yet Detroit refuses to listen. Instead, they cram down our throats what they want to sell us and pat us on the head and tell us it's good for us....

Chevy discontinued the Cobalt. I thought it was a cool little car and felt when I was ready for another new car, I might buy one. Dodge discontinued the 2DR Neon, Ford has shit cars...

What is a guy to do?

maybe the subaru brz will bring back a modern chevette.

I actually drove chevette coupe around. A little bigger in chassis, air /fuel on the same displacement...it would have been quite a keeper.

..if you are referring to neon sized that is in your post.

Barry, I would like to see ANY 2DR coupe... Hell, a midsize or fullsized two door would be kickass. What the hell has happened to people? Why are we constantly being fed a diet of ever-increasing utilitarianized appliance-like cars? Why can't we have FUN cars anymore?

Fuggalotta go green and political correctness... let us have some damned fun for the coin we have to fork over for a freakin' new car.

Got something against the new Challenger do you? LMAO!After hitting Bambis brother June 1st and totaling our new Challenger I could not find one exactly like that car.Reason why? It had very few options is why.I wasnt going to have crap shoved down my throat I didnt want. The possibilty of having to order a 13 was vey likely.Salesman did a pre-order for one.Same options but red with red seats.Guess what? You can only get the red seats if the car is,black white or silver.WTF! I do know that the abilty to get what you want with a ordered car you are better off to get a Camaro and especially a Mustang. Its not just Dodge.Jim Robison found his new Camaro in Ariz.Dont they want to sell cars?Theres a pic floating around of a Charger with 2 drs based on the present platform.Grill was re-done with hideaway headlights and looked AWESOME.I would have bought that rather than the Challenger if they would have made it.Thanks for getting my BP up buddy.LOL.

For all the gear heads (petrol heads as they say across the pond)- I was digging through some old pictures from a few years back and remember seeing (but now can't find it) a company from Colorado had designed and built a Dodge Charger concept car that was more true to the retro styling of the old favorite... Here's what the Charger should have looked like when they reintroduced it: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v04YG0l-aTo/TYyEOKWT0gI/AAAAAAAAALo/RF2-uy8wfn4/s1600/2011_dodge_charger.jpg Here's

All the modern cars look like jellybeans, so there's no need to try to make a good looking version. Used to be the 2 doors had cleaner lines than a 4 door version of the same car. Also used to be that styling was important, and they'd change it every year to keep things fresh.
