  • tried a new wheel on the 49 today

I bought these Centerlines 4 or 5 yrs ago, just because i gotta REALLY good deal on them....

had a little down time at the shop this morning, and figured why not test fit on the 49 . I love the car, but i need to change it up a little. not sure this is the route im gonna take though, i do like it.

i have 4 15 x 8.5, so if i go this route, i will have to get a couple of skinnier wheels for the front.

Going from boulevard cruiser to the street racer look. I hope you have more than the 216 Blue Flame under the hood now. Haha.

Neat wheels, but they are not quite right for that car.

it has a stock-ish mid 70's 350, th350, nova 10 bolt ... if i need it to be a little more frisky, i can pull the bottle out of the camaro and stuff it in this car!

I dont think it is the car, it is some of the other Kustom style mods done to the car that clash with the wheels. I really have always thought i was going to do chrome smoothies, with no caps. hell, i still might do that. this is just playing with what i have.

I ALMOST.... almost put one of the 22's off my suburban on it. just sayin

oh, and thanks for everybody's comments!

That's what I meant. There are ways to fix up a 49 chevy so those wheels would look right on it, but your car isn't done that way.

Chrome reverse would fit the style of the car pretty well.

Yes, not right for that car. I agree that chrome reverse work better. Even the steelies on there would work well, just paint them a different color than red. Clashes with the green.
