Looks like 2012 is the last year we know we can drive on the "ring"..i have had plans on going there for a long time..looks like i need to do it this year.

They opened a amusement park some years ago,that cost alot..and it didnt do well either.

There was a Top Gear where they went to the ring said it was open to any one so there was all kinds of "traffic" made it sound like a toll road.

A seven mile long road course without a major racing series bringing in series money for at least one race a year is a total sink hole of cash. The amount of money just to keep the track surface intact must be staggering.

Think what has happened to tracks that Nascar no longer goes to. They don't last long.

bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean it's going to close - in fact most times, it allows companies to get rid of things dragging it down.... like roller coasters... wtf decided a race track needed a roller coaster?

The Ring has been in financial problems a long time..(like 20 years or more),and i guess one of the solutions was to make it more family friendly.Its only my guess..

The Ring is a big track..even a big Buick Electra can hide there in the woods..but you could probably hear the tires whine 20 miles from the amusement park though..
