Hate to hear that, would have never thought it cost that much to run a race track. -

Is the track used for actual racing anymore? All I hear about is the manufacturers using it to brag about new cars.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

There was a Top Gear where they went to the ring said it was open to any one so there was all kinds of "traffic" made it sound like a toll road.Originally posted by Scott Liggett View PostIs the track used for actual racing anymore? A seven mile long road course without a major racing series bringing in series money for at least one race a year is a total sink hole of cash. The amount of money just to keep the track surface intact must be staggering.
Think what has happened to tracks that Nascar no longer goes to. They don't last long.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

bankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean it's going to close - in fact most times, it allows companies to get rid of things dragging it down.... like roller coasters... wtf decided a race track needed a roller coaster?Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Maybe they don't care because they plan on replicating the track in Nevada........

The Ring has been in financial problems a long time..(like 20 years or more),and i guess one of the solutions was to make it more family friendly. Its only my guess..Originally posted by SuperBuickGuy View Postbankruptcy doesn't necessarily mean it's going to close - in fact most times, it allows companies to get rid of things dragging it down.... like roller coasters... wtf decided a race track needed a roller coaster?Comment

the last thing I want at the track is my family - they say silly things like "oh, that's dangerous" or "slow down" or "you scream too much when you're on fire"Originally posted by Blazerteam View PostThe Ring has been in financial problems a long time..(like 20 years or more),and i guess one of the solutions was to make it more family friendly. Its only my guess..Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

The Ring is a big track..even a big Buick Electra can hide there in the woods..but you could probably hear the tires whine 20 miles from the amusement park though..Originally posted by SuperBuickGuy View Postthe last thing I want at the track is my family - they say silly things like "oh, that's dangerous" or "slow down" or "you scream too much when you're on fire"
