Amen to that. She was up here years ago on a local radio station (where she announced she was leaving Concrete Blonde) and did some in house accoustic sets. Amazing voice!

Tuesday, August 12, 1969........after morning muster breaks out, I get invited to go to this
rock concert in upstate New York. I didn't know it was Woodstock but knew Janis was going to play as
well as Jimi Hendricks and host of other groups.
Three guys and a Volkswagen........I'd be the fourth.
Problem was I just got married in June and I wasn't going to leave my new
bride by herself.........and hell I was still on my honeymoon

They were leaving that Friday, August 15, and said they would be back on Monday.
Well..........they were two days AWOL and got an ass eating from the Old Man for hanging out
with hippies.
Still remember the stories they came back with.

Man.......I loved the '60's.

Me too - I was a young punk teenager in 1969 (almost 15) but I started early - working at a horse riding stables every summer during high school (and before) but I knew it was going on. Month or two later was Goose Lake in Michigan (I think Mr. Stokes went or even played there) but once again I was riding trail and chasing the young stuff.

This is still my favorite song from Woodstock - they were stoned on Mesc.......they had to go up on stage like a day early cause none of the other groups could get in - yep - the New York State Freeway is closed man !!!

That is a great song. Will be forever.

Amazing though, from today's standards, she looks like she's made up for Halloween. The dress, the hair, the makeup, it's bizarre, but that was cool back then. If she went through security at the airport today, she'd get strip searched by TSA. Appearance alone.
