Hey guys...sorry if I've been away FAR too long.
We are still alive, kicking, albeit broke as a joke, and stll suffering Powertour withdrawl.
Just one of my random updates of joy. Some of you guys might recall my Mom's story on the '87 5.0 she bought new, that we used, enjoyed, raced on and off the drag strip in the day...and ended up getting hit by a train.
Fast forward to a few years back...my mom and step dad Keith {not really my step dad, never married, but hell 23+ years together.}...they called it quits, went through a period for a while and started to work things out for the better and getting things back on track.
I had my mom's 5.0/t5 from the '87 sitting in my garage. I ended up taking it back over to Keith's at mom's request as we found another roller to drop it into for her to drive.
Keith passed last April, and I was never able to get into the hosue to recover the engine, despite the Family's promises I'd get it. Very sore deal for us how we got treated after the funeral.
I had sort of just accepted things...moved on.
And then...I run into one of Keith's long time buddys.
Got to talking about things, and asked him if he still had Keith's car trailer...nice custom aluminum job that I seen some kid with and the kid was acting all white eyed like I busted him with stolen property.
Found out Dave who I was told had gotten the trailer, did not. {Why was I surprised? I mean Mother f'n A, I was surprised but I shouldn't have been}
He said "Hell no, those f-bomb dirty SOB's Keith was wrenching for on a race car took all his tools, the trailer, and swiped your mom's engine and trans. I know, as the SOB is sitting on a goofy engine stand"...right there, i interjected "Let me guess. Shitty welds. 2x4 holding up the tailstock of the T5?"...and Dave was like "Ah...yessss, how do you know?"
I was like "Cause I WELDED the MothaF*r!"
He's like, yeah, it's sitting in their shop up front to the left.
So. Working right now on trying to get the info from the registration from State of Nebraska for the VIN info...so we can match up any info off the block and transmission and file a stolen item report and theft by deception.
What angers me even more this pieces of garbage had the gal to tell my mom to her face "No, No, that engine wasn't yours" last year when she was at their shop.
So...Nothing more joyous than discovering the location of stolen engine and transmission, and actually planning on LEGALLY getting it back.Mental thought to the POS' that took it: Have fun guys. Karma's a beeyotch. I may not have the old 5.0...but I sure as f am getting the engine and 5 speed back.

Sorry for the sop box rant vent session...but going about this legally and not just going fist to face, boot to ass.
