What would you do? Crush or restore?

1968-ish MG B-GT, body only, no motor/trans/suspension, etc, sorta rare coupe, body is pretty good from shin-level up. Still has good glass & doors. Rockers, footwells, and floorboards are victims of the New England Tin Worm. More holes than a Las Vegas porn convention.

Thinking about giving it to first person who'll swear they won't crush it.
Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

I am never superleggera again after a subaru...

and an inline to boot for the mg. A lot of work for someone.
I drove one in a driveway when I was still 5 feet tall..I called it small back then too.

the benefit of being that light, anything 18 gauge is making a truck out of it...its kinda fun hammer welding one off pieces. Awesome lesson.

I brought my '64 B back from the dead - Michigan car. I did it to prove to myself that I COULD do it. It was complete and running when it was given to me. It was a nasty job.

I'd call Moss Motors (in GA, IIRC) and see if they have any use for it. Otherwise, as much as I'm sorry to say it, it's probably Kia time.

crush it while scrap prices are decent. Might have enough metal there to pay for gas to take it to the metal yard.

Dude if I was closer... I totally dig those hardtop MG's. Would be a great long term project to improve metal fab skills on. It'd be totally cool with a late model carbed 4 cyl. Or how about a tube frame with a V8 and a straight axle. Oh, the possiblities.

looks like a candidate for a Factory Five frame... and yeah, if I would ever actually DO IT, I'd jump on that. I have projects for my kids to grow old with.

Tony, if you can afford to keep it somewhere for a while, somebody will love you for it. They are kinda rare.

Lots of rust means different things to different people depending on where they live. If I had a use for it, I would come get it. Like Beagle, too many projects here already. It would be fun with a 5.3L swapped in with a tube chassis under it sorta like a Super 7.

The "right" engine for that car is a Buick/Rover aluminum V8. Fits well and is light enough that it doesn't screw up the handling. MG actually offered this combo but it's very rare - the MGD. MGC was the B with an inline six - easy to spot as there's a lump in the hood.\\

Make yard art out of it.

It already IS yard art.... But not exactly the kind the residents truly appreciate. Lol...

I have researched the Rover V8 conversion, and it seems like a sbf would be more power, fit reasonably well, and be WAY cheaper.

Now I just need to find a straight axle narrow enough to use this for a gasser...

                              Any suggestions?
