  • Favorite Movies?

It seems like we've all discussed cars, music and life on here
without touching the medium of film/cinematography... At least
I've never seen a thread on here discussing it; Here are my 5
favorite movies of all time; feel free to chime in with yours...

    1. Vanishing Point (Kowalski, Challenger, need I say more?)
    2. Dumb and Dumber (..."like the Salmon of Capistrano." A classic, for sure)
    3. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (Great Wes Anderson flick with an all-star cast)
    4. Cannibal! The Musical (Sounds gay, I know. Funny as hell. From the makers of South Park)
    5. Where Eagles Dare (WWII flick with Clint Eastwood. Watch out for that icepick!)

That's my short list... I'm a movie buff, so
there could have been a top 100 list. ;D

I'm also somewhat of a movie buff, mostly older stuff though. I could name at least 50 favorites, but here's my top 5.

    1. STAR WARS episode 4.The original release, not the F*#^D up special edition.
    2. ALIENS. the second one,1986
    3. The Green Berets. My favorite war movie
    4. The Enforcer. I love'em all but this one's the best!
    5. The French Connection

Just groovin' to my own tune.

Mean Streets is a great movie.

          3 Vanishing point
          4 Smokey and the Bandit

I guess the 70's were great for movie making .

                Re: Favorite Movies?

I got all those Mel Brooks movies on DVD except The Producers but I do have History of the World Part 1 and Dracula Dead and Loving it to make up for it :P
                Escaped on a technicality.

Ah History of the World Part 1!
How could I forget that? My oldest daughter really learned to appreciate comedy after watching The Producers in a film study class in High School. She has since seen all of the Mel Brooks movies she could find.

Seems like an impossible thing to do.

1-Pulp Fiction I'll watch it anytime it's on even though I have it on DVD
2- Too many to pick from, my brain got stuck

                        Re: Favorite Movies?

                        In no particular order

                        Twister (especially on surround sound)
Gone in 60 seconds (I love both versions)
Star Wars (the original 1977 movie)
Bullit (best car chase scene ever IMO)
A Fish Called Wanda. (absolutely freaking hilarious movie IMO. I also liked Raising Arizona)

                          Re: Favorite Movies?

I cannot believe Brian picked "Unbreakable." I watched it twice just to make sure it was a bad movie.

                          My top 5 are:

                          "The Blues Brothers"
                          "Pulp Fiction"
                          "Dog Day Afternoon"
                          "The Great Escape"
                          "Rudy"

                          Ron
It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.
