    Parts deliveries

Summit is great because they get it here in 2 days most times, 3 at the outside (excluding weekends)....
    HOWEVER, let me recommend

Amazon prime, if they have it, gets it here in one day.... granted, they tend to be a bit more expensive - but I'm not sure that the cost in fuel to go to an auto parts store would be less; and most certainly NAPA is not cheaper

    I like Summit:
    Excellent return policy
They track all my purchases online
    Prices are competitive

I just got magnet #16 from rockauto..
funny enough, there is ony two duplicates. as if they kept track what they were giving me.

priority mail is the shipping, the company scraping pennies is called a distributor/resale/retail.

Jegs warehouse is 2.5 hrs north of me. Summits warheouse is 4 hours north of me. Overnight delivery- if i order before like 9pm or so- for the price of Std. shipping...both are awsome... Jegs got me a flaming river steering coupler, 34 spline to DD shaft, a week or so ago, had it in my hands about 16 hours after i placed the order....

and free JEGS stickers for the delivery cars at the shop.

Just groovin' to my own tune.

I've had good luck with Summit, Jegs, and Rock Auto. I prefer Jegs for speed parts because I like their business practices better than Summit. Summit TRIES to force small operators out of business (or at least has in the past) and I don't like that mind set. Learned about that from a guy in the business who has impeccable integrity and I believe him.

there is alot of distribution..very silly the sheer number.

I got upset at jc whitney recently, trying to buy a fender they claimed to have..go ahead with purchase and suddenly I am linked off to auto parts warehouse..the very place that should not even be in business. I have NEVER gotten what was ordered, always a refund.

where summit is gathering links of every car, even my old sube, I am wondering how far out there they are getting scraping pennies...going to be another crosslinking jc whitney? False fronts belong in ghost towns.

jegs still domestic mostly, rockauto gets right to the car you have exactly, tells you if part is there.

ebay is ok, play it smart. I just spotted a tire I ordered from arizona, out for delivery..discount tire something.

Rock auto is frustrating to me - they have a lot of good prices, but the shipping is always a surprise and pricier than summit.
30 day limit on returns makes me mad too.
I have a couple things from Rock I will have to resell or eat because they sat a while before I figured out they wouldn't work.

Especially since you have to put everything in your "cart" ready to purchase before you find out that your order needs to come from different warehouses and you'll have to pay shipping from each warehouse, that sucks - I've gotten to that point and not placed the order just because of the additional ship charges - that's BS, and I don't mean bangshifty!

Never had that problem with summit.

Advanced is starting to gain my respect - 20% off almost all the time on web orders picked up in store - but the website is clunky - and you don't know if your store has the stuff in stock or not until you check out....

I agree on the Advance website and Auto Zone isn't any better (I think it's the same format).

No one has mentioned Speedway and I've done well with them. Helpful sales folks on the phone and they have lots of obscure stuff.

Just got surprised from Tooltopia again. wanted to get a conventional paint gun, they had the best price, best shipping costs, if I spent 15.00 more it would have been free, and got to chicago next day from Louisiana. I order paint from louisiana and it gets here in 4-5 days.

I've kept some cores from Rock auto, didnt make sense to pay 20.00 to get 30.00 back, but there is so much information on their website, and even had manufacturers call me back when I have a question they cant answer that usually ends up giving them the vin number to get the exact right part. But buying springs or shocks and getting 5 different ride types to choose from for some 19-22.00 shocks and seeing a few dollars difference makes it easy to upgrade instead of settling of the suggested one. So its a wash with waiting for parts or deciding when we start on the project. Only problem I had was when we rebuilt the 4L80E but when we dropped it there was a goodwrench sticker on it so it was not the exact trans that was put in the van when it was built. I would be thoroughly happy if they would just tell me where the warehouses are that the parts are coming from.

Got parts in a cart at speedway, have not ordered yet, should be trying them soon.

And free gifts. I once got a fabbed aluminum shelf(?) designed for a race car trailer. I mounted it to the side of my tool box to hold my Loctite/assembly lubes/WD 40/Lithium grease, etc. I think it's value was around $70. When I bought the Edelbrock heads for a customer (they charged me LESS than $10 shipping for the 2 huge boxes BTW) they asked what size jacket I wore? I figured they'd send me some gay windbreaker or something lame. Imagine my surprise when this arrived!!

wait - you bought brodix heads and they sent you an Edelbrock jacket? I Guess Brodix doesn't have jackets.

I think Summit is the best out there for performance stuff, but I live one state away from them and get everything within 24 hours for $9.

You know, you're right. The jkt came w/Edelbrock heads I got for a customer....It was a few yrs ago. I was wearing it at an event when an Edelbrock rep was pissed off because he himself said he had no access to anything like it, and really dug it

That's a flippin sweet jacket regardless how you got it - I've gotten a lot of parts from them over the years - but not nearly as much as you apparently - I don't even get free hats anymore - just a cubic ton of stickers.
