Those Gurney heads are awesome, I've seen them for sale a few times at the swap meet at Carlisle All-Ford. It would be interesting to see flow numbers and a dyno test compared to some present day aftermarket aluminium heads, just for curiosity's sake.
cheers

an angle missing, an intake?
other than the ports probably being WAY F*ING LARGE BY HUGE for any stock stroke SBF, the chamber looked pretty modern? I'd imagine they would hold their own pretty good on a 408+ inch mill at 7000? Hell, who cares. They're sexy. The look fast. That's gotta be worth something in the lawn chair world!!Last edited by Beagle; October 22, 2012, 07:12 AM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

thought something was missing, I guess that angle is nothing to worry about
would be cool if they cast the head to a level port.Previously boxer3main

Back in the gas crisis of the 70's, those were the trick for mileage, driveability and power.... Guess there is a reason why it didnt take off other than price?
Doubtful this motor gives a rat's ass about mileage...
Always liked that look...
