          I had the same thought. For (probably) less money they could have gone to Mike Cook's meet with the FIA in attendance. Not as easy to do a standing mile on salt, for sure (not that it's easy on pavement!). Not to take anything away from their accomplishment - that's movin' in anyone's book. I'll assume that the course was the right length, the timers were calibrated properly, etc. I'd like to see them at Wilmington.

              I saw on another site that it was a photo-op with a jet (F-104?) flying next to it. Probably easier to get that picture where they did it.
