Steve - that's a b!t@h! Some things just ain't fair. After you get over licking your wounds, transferring the top from 'Ol Rusty might not be such a bad idea. Need to borrow my MIG?
If the frame is okay, and it just taco'd the cab, don't get into a big hurry to make a decision would be my suggestion... measure it all out and see what you have to work with. That sucks... I still can't bring myself to bring my 2000 Lightning out of the toaster oven it got toasted in, only been 3 years now.
I have the ability to rebuild it er... cut it in half and connect it to the other truck. It just wasn't the project i was looking for.
Here is a shot of the other truck. The white washes out the worst of it but the lower half is toast. I might consider welding in patch panels but the big problem with the cab is the cowl. It is totally rotted out.
The top has some dents that would require me to get..... creative to remove them. My buddy in Montana is looking for another truck for me. Maybe I get to make the run again. just thoughts.
Steve
Well I have stopped buying stuff for cars I don't own. Is that a step in the right or wrong direction?
Dude - that's a swift kick squarely to the nads.... I feel it all the way over here.
Take a few deep breaths, stand back, ponder a while, and have an open mind. It's bad, but it's not dead. Maybe take the top off the white one and put it on this one, maybe something else.... but don't give up. Like the donkey in the hole who stepped up on each shovel of dirt thrown in to burry him.... be creative and don't forget to ask for help. I'm assuming it wasn't insured.
