  • The sad story of "El Taco the truck"

It started its life with me as a parts truck. With the advent of hind sight it would have been cheaper to just put a motor and windshield in "El Taco".

    It gave its bed

    It gave its stereo

We experimented with ways to get the cab back to Md

towed it to the race track for all to see

I was in the process of cleaning a spot in the garage for just the cab. I bought a couple of movers dolly's to Make it easier to move around. Between the havoc of moving and work El Taco was temporary pastured in the back yard. Then comes Sandy (stupid bitch)...........

It did not get any better once the branches were cleared

Any one want to buy a rust free cab slightly dented

    Steve
Well I have stopped buying stuff for cars I don't own. Is that a step in the right or wrong direction?

The prices on those trucks have completely fallen out on those trucks thanks to $5.00 gas here. People are giving away.

                    come on now.

I remember a friend flipped his short bed end for end, the it rolled like a hot dog...

chopped off the roof and away it went with a new one.

why is steel so scary if a shape has been altered.

The radio was given to a old shop mate that has a collection of tape/8trac units on display.

There are thoughts of cutting the top 1/2 off El Taco and welding on the top 1/2 of the other truck. I am still mad enough to avoid even looking at the carcass.

Just think of it as an opportunity to spend a little more time with El Taco. Ok, a LOT more time.
Find a truck with a trashed bottom half.
Drag Week 2012 (wet paint and no transmission but finished) Drag Week 2013 Daily Driver finished in middle of pack (again) Drag Week 2014 #56 of 126 Daily Drivers. (getting closer to the 32)

Think of this as an good excuse to buy a porta power. It might be good if you give it some time before working on the truck.
