  • 130+ tons of steel... going from 'Brand new' to 'scrap' in .5 second....

Is this what they call 'drop-shipped', or is it ship-dropped here?

    HOLY insurance claim Batman!

I'd hate to have been the guy that inspected the rigging before the lift.

At work we have those nylon type straps to lift crashed aircraft, they have to be load tested every year if not used and EVERYTIME we actually pic up an aircraft. At our base thats 5 in 15 years. We have had 2 sets replaced due to test failure(they seem to last about 6 years in the box). Hum 2 year seat belt cert.?

That sling they are using on that locomotive doesn't look much biggger than the ones we use to only pick up about 12,000lbs....

I think it's a sense of scale thing. The straps to me look similar to the ones the mine uses to lift haul truck beds, which are in the neighborhood of 100-120 tons. And of course we aren't using them at their max rating.

You can also click the YouTube-logo on the right in the lower bar, which opens the Youtube-site with the movie. You can then copy the link from the URL-bar in your browser.
Besides that, you'll get to see other 'trainwreck'-clips aswell, which is usually good to waste another 15-30 minutes of your time...

I was thinking there wasnt enough capacity there too. Math must be real hard, but it can be damn expensive if you dont use it.

a ships steel is the trains signal? it appears to be coming off a ship.
I used to watch some container boxes fight like the devil coming to earth in new jersey.

I bet it fought to the whiff of hard earth.

that is just me and steel, don't mind me..it is the difference between a 26 year old tin can and retard in his 5 years old diesel claiming tough.

they got the springy strap part right, thos guys, beyond guessing, know what they are doing.
