  • Brad K Boring ? Nascar TV Ratings Hit A New Low ...

After an uptick last year, NASCAR's Chase For the Cup fell back to record-low levels. The 2012 Chase For the Cup averaged a 2.7 U.S. rating and 4.2 million viewers on ESPN and ABC, down 13% in ratings and 12% in viewership from last year

every percent of power EFI gives the cars over carburetors, there's a corresponding and equivalent drop in TV ratings. PUT THE CARBS BACK ON!!!

One would think with all the horrifying fires, rampant team to team computer cheating, massive technical flaws, and general chaos caused by the switch to EFI, rating would have soared.

Oh wait...none of that shit happened.
That which you manifest is before you.

really even though they lost me, I don't wish them bad. Just remember what those last three letters strand for and start with one.

Beer stock is down, too. That's a major indicator of NASCAR ticket sales.

Not that beer isn't good, beer IS good!

It's all sort of an inverse financial relationship, that's where NASCAR screwed up. The biggest decline of NASCAR ticket sale occurred on the day TV started covering it, for lots of money, all those years ago.

So we could all sit at home and watch it, without going to the track. And pee when we need to and pay un-inflated prices for beer......DAAAAAAAY_OHHHH, so, uh......?

And when it even got boring on TV, then..... What do you do with a sport like that? I don't have any creative suggestions, just sayin.'

The ESPN years were the best with Ned, Benny and Bob Jenkins. They knew what they were talking about and there was no smoke and mirrors bullshit. I blame FOX the most for ruining nascar.

Encourage more fights. Mix of MMA and Nascar- MMACAR? It was way more fun in the days of Cale,Donnie and Richard

If that ain't it in a nutshell, it's never been said.

So, this year we have the .....wait there was a NASCAR race where a fight broke out. Lemme see, we have a highly decorated but aging glory boy of questionable masculinity going against a fabulously rich young guy sponsored by enough companies to launch a new space program, and even still on national TV the cameras were not in good enough position to catch the blows.

Not all the problems are the fault of Nascar. A bunch of drivers who sound like brainless automotons spewing thank yous to sponsors and the usual brain numbing scripted replies isn't helping things either. ESPN's talking heads are not that exciting to listen to either. ESPN completely ignoring the most popular driver the last three drivers. I could go on.

I guess I just don't understand. A whole bunch of us paid big bucks (big for some of us anyhow) to GET TO drive on a real track. I mean BUY time on a track. No, I'm sure I just don't get it, the big picture.

Seems to me NASCAR has gone towards "Sports Entertainment" instead of competitive auto racing. Too much regulation and dictation of what and who. Kind of reminds me of Professional "Sports Entertainment" Wrestling........ OK Jeff it will be your turn to win this week and Kyle we will hand you a big fine this week, Next week will be Jimmy's turn...... Just sayin..... NASCAR is not much fun anymore......

This is what happens when you make those damn Busch kids behave.

Can it maybe be ... COT? I can hardly tell the cars apart on the streets any more, they might as well let them race four door production bodies. It's still got some potential left, see what you can salvage from the fickle masses who have probably moved on to the next reality craze,
