  • Help identify an old RC Monster Truck from the 80's?

I bought this used from a buddy back in 1986. I never did know the brand/name of it, and I'm fairly sure he didn't either.

Anyone ever have one like it? It could have been setup for 4 wheel steering if I remember correctly.

No markings anywhere? I dont recognize it. Thought it might be a Tamyia Blackfoot but after comparing, its not...

No markings that I can find.

The Tamiya Grasshoppers I have don't have any markings either, I think they depended on their sticker packages for product labeling.

I've ID'd the "new" truck as a Tamiya Blackfoot. I knew it looked like a truck version of the FROG (different front spindles), thought maybe SUBARU BRAT (different front springs/shocks) and finally hit on the BLACKFOOT.

But my old truck still stumps me.....the front hubs almost look like they could have been 4WD compatible?

Here's the "new" to us BLACKFOOT. .

Looks to be modded, but I'd say it's a Kyosho. Big Brute, maybe?

I say the Big Brute is a winner, I found some pics online and it matches up...but I cant link them because of my security settings.

I had a Blackfoot back in the day. Those big tires are a servo saver killer. haha

            Definitely a Big Brute.

Sorry I wasnt on earlier, woulda given you the low down. Had two of those when I was stationed in Germany. Really fun truck, had a mechanical speed control burn up with a 52 turn drag motor in it, stuck wide open was doin about 30 with smoke rolling from under the body. That thing took a beating.

The wheels on it are from the High Rider Vette. the one Stiney posted is the brute, it had the white wheels.
