The problem is the Mirada's front end isn't your typical Mopar set up. Perhaps they thought it had parallel bars instead of the transverse style it has?

And that's the idea. I have a clean J (plus a good prototype body for cut-up use). It's not just J-body, or even Mopar. So far, the only car that seems to fit my criteria for selection that gets any love is '78-'87 GM G and '78-'84 GM A body...and it's only two bodies since they share 90% of things. Seriously...and I agree, Joe, there's still '60s iron overlooked...but what about the others?

        GM '77-90 B body
        AMC
        Mustang II/Pinto/Maverick/Granada
        Big Ford-Linc-Merc
        Chrysler C-body
Chrysler "Late" B-body ('Doba, '75 Roadrunner, Magnum)
        Ford Panther
        Big 3 FWD performance

Keep your brand loyalties and hatred of FWD at bay for a minute. What would you rather drive as your basic commuter...a Honda Civic or a modded out '86 Escort like Walt is building? Who would rock a Shelby Charger or Omni GLHS? What about a Beretta with a 3.8sc swap? Or go off the deep end and do the Lumina/ElCamino hybrid? An AMC Eagle Wagon outfitted with Cherokee suspension bits and an EFI/Turbo 4.0L, ready for Search and Rescue?

Admittedly, my motivation for the SEMA thing was to get stuff for my car, but it's been something I've been trying to hack out for a few years now...why trash what is available? As I type this, I'm on a break from a school assignment that takes GMT800 ('99-'06) trucks and sets them up as commercial vehicles that can compete with Class 4-5-6 trucks for easily 40% undercut in price.

I vent here because as gearheads, y'all make the perfect target audience and supply the best feedback. Nevermind the choices...think about it: Why spend unholy money on new vehicles that are saddled with tons of weight and computer bullshit when you can have something just as capable, that is more efficient, at half the overall cost, reverse engineered to fix original faults, and doesn't look like a bastardized potato?

I would rock the HELL out of a modded Omni GLHS, and laugh my big ass off all day long when I smoke new mustangs at the strip.

It's custom fab time. Make friends with a local welder, machinist, designer/engineer, etc. With the amount of knowledge on here you could plan a suspension swap or custom build.

Another '06, oh yeah. The '87 would be nice, but if a sweet '78-'80 Malibu surfaced, I'd go for that first...always wanted one. Just needs the Monte or Grand Prix dash.

....DAMMIT, stop filling my head with ideas!!

but I doubt people would guess it gets out into the third or fourth decimal place. I was simply making a point, not every single post with TC in it is a "who can crack the best joke" competition. If you prefer bullshit, jokes, non-car-related info, and guys who know that don't share info with you, just say so and I'll stop with the informative posts so you guys can sit and joke about projects that won't get finished. If you want.

No that's not what I want. But relax. Stop taking everything so seriously. You two throw barbs back and forth, and many of your TC bashing posts are not informative posts - but if you can make them funny without getting nasty, then it's all good (imo).
I imagine a good bit of your livelihood is battling misinformation put out there by people who don't know what they are talking about... so I can understand why you can be quick to try to straighten things out when you see something posted that isn't accurate. ... but that up there ^^ was just TC throwing back the same sort of barb you throw at him all the time. ... and no, I don't always take TC's side of y'alls arguments.
