When I was in East Germany in '85 I saw a dozen or so Russian built T-70's on the highway between Munich and Berlin. That highway had areas that doubled as runways in different areas and had dirt roads parallel to the highway on both sides.

Articulating tires/wheels are actually quite common over in Europe. Almost all multi-axle tractor/trailers have them. Oh, another neat thing (to save on fuel and wear) is the ability to raise tires off the ground when the vehicle is driving without a load.

I'm guessing not a whole lot of trouble in traffic, like idiots pulling out in front of you. "Hey lady, hang up the phone and drive! Never mind........"

Cool vid, used to see them cruising around Korea and rarely in Germany. Most often I saw them on these. My brother drove these for a while, did two tours in Iraq hauling tanks with these trucks. Note the articulating tires on the trailer.
