  • Performing solo... who's your favorite artist?

It occurred to me, a there are a lot of great musical performers out there, but the overwhelming majority of them perform with a group, or at the very least, a backup band. It takes a bunch of talent to be able to get up by yourself and make a living performing, whether it be singing, playing an instrument or both.

The question here is, who is your favorite solo performer?

In my opinion, a few come close (Like Keb' Mo and Warren Haynes) but nobody does it for me like good ol' Tab Benoit hisself!

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

    the guitar soloists..there is many.

I was just digging up some nine inch nails, that was a serious loner..make a band wherever he may end up to play a locale. modern strange sound included.

I am into everything, that one just crossed my mind as I purchased some of their older music.

one thing I have not been impressed with is the piano solos..where is original loners today?

My two faves are both dead. They both generally performed with bands but also were VERY good solo.

Stevie Ray Vaughn and Randy Garibay. Not sure what's on Youtube of their solo atuff but "Life By The Drop" comes to mind for SRV.

                      I really like the blues.

When I listen to Michael Grimm by himself playing his guitar man this guy has more talent is his little finger then most singers will ever have.

I also like Allen Stone who made his first video in his mothers living room.

Diane Burch is another very gifted singer.

All of the above very talented people are also very young!!!

Just the opinion of a over 65 year old guy Jimbo

Teddyzee, that stuff is amazing! Wow! It's cool that he is local to you, as well.

This guy is local here and has skills I will never posess.

I could listen to stuff like this all day long.
