  • Re: Short Intro's

Hey all, I just registered and thought I would introduce myself. I'm Chris Spies of Midwest Turbo & Performance (www.mtpturbo.com) & Fastest Street Car Magazine (I'm a freelance tech writer). Before opening MTP, I was an engineer at ProCharger for approximately 7 years. I am the engineer who designed the F series blower lineup as well as much of the heavy duty racing hardware for the 5.0 Mustang and Big/Small block Chevy engines. I am now campaigning a small tired, twin turbo SB Chevy powered ride (a Ford Fairmont...)

and an EFI equipped Big Block Chevy Powered '48 Plymouth.

I am mostly a Chevy guy though my engines all seem to find their way into different makes.

My main area of expertise is aftermarket engine management and forced induction, If any of you guys have questions you feel I may be able to answer, you're certainly welcome to ask.

    -Chris

One man mission to bring Pro Street back. ;D Fortunate enough to have just graced the cover of January 2008 issue of Super Chevy. (ya I'm braggin', you would too) It's a show queen that's turned a 6.32 in the 1/8th. Now I'm swapping heads, gettin' a license, and looking for a 5.99!

I'm Scott from Florida. New to the forum as of today! I have been into cars since I can remember. My old man got me into them. He has forgotten more than I will ever know!! Had a '70 SS396 4 speed Nova, sold that to fund a '90 5.0 LX Mustang back in the day, got into crotch rocket bikes after that, and now I have my sweet deuce: 1966 Chevy II Nova. Car originally had a BBC on spray, blew her up, then decided I wanted a blower motor...so-that's how I came about my Procharged engine now. Later!

Hello everyone, my name is Tig and I'm a car junkie.(so's my wife Cath). I've come over from moparts after seeing Eddies post. I'm a Bio Med by trade and dragracer for fun. American muscle cars have been a great influence and are a major part of our lives. We've had our car for 19 years and this year we managed to improve the ET by 6 seconds and 53 mph from the first time we ran it. I'd guess that it isn't going to stop there. 8)
There's some real nice cars on here they are a credit to you all. ;)

Hi, my name is James and I'm a car junkie ("Hi, James!").
I drive a pretty-much stock '62 Ranchero, and still have my first car: a '71 Buick LeSabre 2-dr I bought back in '84 for $1285. I recently swapped out the 290K-mile 350 for the 455 I've always wanted. I'm living in West Texas, and enjoying anything mechanical that burns gas.

Hi all Ron Nies Sr here and I am from the Balt Md area. Here is my story:

I have been a gearhead all my life since I was about 10. I was born in 1956 and grew un in the 60's and 70's and I love the vintage 60's and 70's muscle cars. I have been a Tech all my life turning wrenches and I do all my own work on my cars other then paint as I am not a body guy. I love Mopars first but I do like and appreciate all muscle cars. I used to bracket race a 4 speed 340 Dart back in the 70's. Then I rolled it in 1982 and then got married in 1983. 2 kids and 12 years later in 1995 I bouught a 72 Dart I cloned like a 70 Swinger 340 but I dropped a mild 383 in it. Then in 2003 my buddy made me an offer for my dream car which is my 63 Ply Sport Fury you see here. I have always loved the Max Wedge cars and the 63 Ply is my favorite. So I sold the Dart to my son and bought the 63. I have 2 boys and cant afford any high dollar things so I built my 63 with a very mild 440 that looks like a Max Wedge without the crossram. Me and my 21 year old who owns the Dart built and put a 400 in his Dart. Its a mild 400 with stock Eddy heads. The funny thing is our cars run within a tenth of each other. Earlier this year in Sept we went racing with our street cars that we drive to the track and I was faster that day by 8 hundreth's. Last week we went racing and since I only got one pass and hurt my rear. I didn't get a real good run as I spun but I ran 11.52 @ 116 and he ran 11.45 @ 117. All I can tell you it is a great time in my life racing with my son in cars that are so close the winner is decided on the starting line. Cars are my life as I work on them for a living and they are my only hobby. And I love every minute of it. Thanks , Ron

                                My 63
