Guess I should finally introduce myself...
Tony, 33, recently of the USAF (FL,SC,TX,AZ) now here in Cape Cod. Gearhead, by genetic default. Dad was an engineer, Gramps A was an engineer, and Gramps B just loved to tinker... Oh, and mom's first car was an Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce... NOT STOCK.. built for road racing... too bad Gramps A blew the engine... so yeah, its a sickness, and I've got it bad.

'56 Chevy 3100, daily driver, needs an IFS (& discs!!)...
'39 Ford sedan in the barn... looong-term project. Any suggestions? LSR maybe?
next to that is the '47 Clark tractor... flathead 6 is goin great now that it has a new carb, fuel pump and alternator conversion. That reminds me... I need to go chop some firewood...

Any other Boston area locals on here?

I've already started posting...but here is my official "hello":

My name is Jess Cooper. I live near Wake Forest, NC but grew up in central Missouri. My first memory in life occurred when I was around 4 years old. My Dad owned a Sinclair Gas station in Jamestown, MO and I would hang out with him on occasion. On one particular day, my Dad took me home for lunch. He had a 1966 Fairlane with a 428 Police Interceptor engine and a 4 speed. The car was midnight blue and had Cragar SS wheels (it was 1980). I remember him taking the "long way home" which conveniently contained a straight stretch of road about 1/2 mile long. I remember him launching the car and feeling my chubby little body get pushed back into the seat from all the torque. I don't recall if I was scared or excited, but I remember it making an impression.

I currently have a 1974 Nova and my wife has a 1985 Camaro. Pictures of both are in the Project Updates portion of the forum.

My name is Alex and I have recently bought my first car, '87 Trans Am. I am 17 and the car is pretty rough. I paid $1550 and have already put $1600 into brakes, carb and power window repair.

My question is, what are the best internet spots for Trans Ams, any Trans Am shows in So Cal I can attend. I would like ideas and suggestions. I wanted to make this a project car for me and my dad. My dad does some kind of racing. I know he goes to the dry lakes and the salt a lot.

                    Thanks,
                    Alex

You should get your Dad to join up as a member here also ...

                              Hi Everyone,
My name is Karl (aka ZeGerman), and I'm excited to join the Car Junkie TV forum! I'm always looking for good sources of information and entertainment. I've been a dedicated car junkie since grade school, and I bought a '66 GTO (pictured below) when I got my license at 16. It's in fairly rough shape, and needs lots of work in every conceivable area (looks much better in photos), but that's the fun of it. I'm originally from East Lansing, Michigan, but am currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I like the city, but I can't wait to move somewhere that permits me to have a garage and access to open road. I have a degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, but currently work in medical research. Frankly, I'd love to earn my living working within the automotive industry in some capacity... Hmmm... I look forward to meeting all of you in due time.
