    Hey Alex from Minnesota/N. Dakota;

PLEASE don't ruin that Mustang with a Chebbie engine. It is bad enough to see in 50's Fords at Good Guys shows with the darn 350 in them, not 60's Mustangs too.

Just my personal pet peeve, had to say it. Do what you want it's your car.

    See Ya; Ray J.

My name is Jeff and I live in Port Charlotte, FL and I'm a Wagon junkie. I am 61 and until last year I was a fairly sucessful real estate investor. I have been self employed most of my life.
My first car was a 60 Ford Ranchwagon. Unlike many of you, my father did not get me interested in cars. He could not figure out why I had this un-natural fascination with old junkie cars. Me either. ???
My most recent focus is 64-72 GM "A" Body wagons. About 2 weeks ago I finally bought a car I've been seeking for many years (9). In 1999 I read David's article in Car Craft about the "Old man In San Diego" where he bought a 65 Buick Special Wagon. Well, mine was delivered on Dec 10th. It's stone stock with 72,000 miles. (...and I have a 455 to go into it).
Jay Leno said, "Their only original once." So, for the time being I'm going to wash, wax, and drive it just like it is. Maybe I'll change the worn out tires and put a nice set of "Bottle Cap" hubcaps on it but that's about it until probably next fall. ;D

Thanks for the comment, but sorry I'm pretty set with the 5.3L. In all honestly I have no brand loyalty, though I would have kept it a ford if the 4.6L was more cost competitive with the Gen III series. Rationally the 5.3L just makes alot more sense than a 4.6L, no matter which side of the fence you sit on.

That is an article I remember well, too! And the 455 swap articles into that same wagon! Welcome, Jeff, and enjoy the new wagon!

Hi all, I'm Ian and have been writing about cars and racing for about 12 years now. Spent several years with DragRacingOnline.com and now work for the American Drag Racing League.

I just stumbled across the site tonight and signed up right away. I'm looking forward to exploring it.

Hi all, I'm a gearhead like the rest of you, but my '86 Mustang GT is about the oldest car I've owned. I love muscle cars, rods, drag cars, but especially the vintage racing stuff. Frieberger's F-Bomb is one of my all-time faves, and I was directed to this site by Jim @ Supercar Collectibles after I put up a post about that car on a diecast board. Seems like a cool place to be!

I'm Christian Hazel. Like Freiburger I'm a magazine wank. Been doing it for about a decade, first at 4-Wheel & Off-Road and lately at a little off road Jeep title called Jp. For me it's not about the wrenching or the lifestyle. I do it for the huge paycheck.

I guess I'm to Freiburger what Freiburger is to Gray Baskerville. I read his stuff as a young punk and got inspired, eventually winding up in an office in the illustrious Petersen building. I dig the wierd. My highlights include a '53 Willys flattie that I stuffed a DOHC shortstar V-6 into, a '48 Willys pickup I'm building into a prerunner with a 700hp Olds big block, and a '68 M-715 army Jeep with a wimpy GMPP 290hp 350 and a full cage and seating for 8. There are about a half dozen other projects in the works, none of which will get finished anytime soon 'cause I can't stay off of craigslist. New crap keeps appearing in my driveway to distract me. Vehicular ADD is a bitch.

Glamis people hauler. Needs 110hp more. Coming soon.

                          The Shortstar Willys.

                          '48 Pre-Rodder

                          Other hobbies. Putting one down.

'51 Navy Superior. Nabbed it for the 331 and manual tranny but couldn't bring myself to part it for an A-bone build.

                          Vintage gear.

                          $500 Wrangler. Eventually getting a 580hp LS2. Glamis.

Thanks a lot for signing in, Christian. Your old login would have worked, too. Thanks for sharing the pics of cool stuff. I didn't know you had a boat...I guess that's technically "off-road."

Nice pics. Welcome aboard and thats a nice hole in the water to throw your money in. Also I think I could build a jeep if it started at $500!

Bought the boat this summer instead of a new kitchen. Money well spent. Kids love it.

Actually, the Jeep came with an extra set of sliding glass door uppers that I sold for $200, so technically it's only a $300 Jeep. The chick who owned it didn't know why the clutch stopped working. After I bought it I filled and bled the clutch master, threw a battery in it, and have been driving it around since.
