  • Hot Rod music, whats the best?

After listening to Trophy Machine I got to downloading and making a 60's car music play list. In doing this some questions needed to be answered for the ages. I Really think 3 window coupe is a better song than little deuce coupe. But more inportant is a ranking system for songs about GTO's. G.T.O. by Ronnie and the Daytona's is the most popular, but Mighty GTO is a good tune and the Judge add/song from Paul Revere and The Raiders may be the best.
Any thoughts on what I need to seek out or how wrong I am?

Wrong? How can "enjoyable" be wrong?
Liking songs is preferance... You can like the most lame dumb ass song and still not be wrong!

Being from the 60's I like all rock n roll.

Beach Boys are hard to beat for driving tunes....Paul Revere is good stuff, saw 'em in concert.
Tommy James, Rolling Stones all good.

I also listen to the best of '66-'69 hits and mix in a little Do Wop.

I just got over 150,000 sounds loaded.
Send me a 1TB hard drive and I'll get you all the music ever wanted.

I think you have the order right.

I think "Little GTO" by Ronnie and the Daytonas is tops with respect to Pontiac GTO love songs. HA! -- I am biased, though. As a kid when we were cruising in m dad's '64 and that song came on, all hell would break loose. Mom screamed, I laughed with delight!
That which you manifest is before you.

I saw Sammy Hagar do that song at Angels Stadium (Anaheim, CA) when I was in High School.

                      60s car music playlist..
                      that should be easy.

the ending of actually enjoying music and driving a 60s car in daily life would be the 80s locally.

history after that. Driving a museum around.

starting to drive in 87, leaves a classic 69 not even 20 years old yet.

my 79 delta 88 was 9 years old, very waxable.

if I was bit younger, just by a few years (my little sister has this phenomena).. I would have the brick wall thinking little cars are nice and keepable...as if to join some cult of .. weirdo.

My music collection consists mainly of Rockabilly, Rock'n'Roll and Blues music.

                              Here are just a few picks I think of good HotRod/Driving songs;
                              - Hot Rod Man - GoCatGo
                              - Oh my Head - Los Lobos
                              - Peter Gunn - The Pyronauts
                              - The House is Rockin' - Stevie Ray Vaughn
                              - On This Highway - Studebaker John & The Hawks
                              - Let's have a Party - Wanda Jackson
                              - Jambalaya - Brenda Lee
                              - Pawnshopbound - William Clarke
                              - Hurricane Blues - Albert Castiglia
                              - Get Rythm - Bob Luman

AC/DC's 'Whole lotta Rosie' should be good for a mature sized speeding ticket or two aswell I guess.
I've got about 2100+ songs available, but funny enough I can't listen to them while driving because there are no easy spots to put speakers in my car.
But I spend a lot of time in my garage so I get to hear them pretty often!
