        I lost about 20 pounds and it's great{248-228}

        When your sitting around in an 2xl shirt and you got belly hang and B-cup manboobs,no energy......... i couldn't stand looking at myself anymore in the mirror.

        I cut out most of junkfood{damn pretzels}, started working out, drank water and tea instead of soda, stop eating late at night. Last time i went out shopping, I'm a size 40 now, few months ago I was a 44.

          Looks like I lost 2 in 2 days. Is be great if I keep the pace up. One pound is like 3500 calories. Each coke is 140. I must have drank a lot of them.

              I think your metabolism is like a flywheel... once you get it revved up, it'll sustain. But it takes some work to get it rolling.

              I'm trying to do that by sorta doing two-a-days.... i.e., pushups/situps in the morning, and then again (or go for a run) in the early evening.

              Getting ready for a 5k, and maybe a Spartan race or even a Tough Mudder in the spring.

              For me, the biggest thing in the way of getting into shape is WORK.

                  I've lost 35 pounds since Oct 1.......healthy carbs, 45-60/meal, 3 meals a day, no snacks, no sugar. Diet coke, water, coffee.
                  I miss the beer, but love my old wardrobe.

                    I intend to lose 30 lbs this year. Just have to average a little less than 3 lbs a month. Should be doable.

                    And this year I intend to do it without getting ran over by a car or having pneumonia. Made it to easy in 2012. LOL.

                            Thanks for the book link "Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It ". Interesting read, it makes way too much sense. I'll probably keep cutting out more carbs, and see how I do.

                                Interesting about the exercise thing....the book quoted above says that exercise is not a way to lose weight, it's a way to gain weight. But you need to read the book to understand why.

                                Have fun with that one
