My wife and I started working out after the first of the year. I weighed 265. Now I weigh 242. We are watching what we eat and drink. Drinking alot of water helps. I want to get near 200 by power Tour time. ( Less weight=better MPG HAHA) Not really. Just want to hit that goal.

Chassisman and 1970 - are you guys at the point that people don't recognize you? That was a big moment for my friends and my daughter. Sort of a milestone. The people who didn't recognize them were all embarrassed and my friends/daughter were having a "two thumbs up" moment!
Hang in there - proud of you!

I have switched gears and am "bulking" now. You cant build muscle mass when you eat like a bird. I eat like a bear now, meat and veggies, low starch and lots of protein. I am up 10 pounds but most of that is lean mass...I will start to "cut" in April to get ready for summer. I want to be able to take a shirt off at the pool and not feel like people are wanting to roll me back out into the open water. If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

I have to say- I have not read this thread until today. I am trying to lose weight too- down 20+ since September. I was over 300. Feel better now. I have been eating less and better and walking everyday. I was going to blow off my walk today because of the cold, but this thread motivated me. Now back to work...Why think when you can be doing something fruitful?

I joined at the gym Feb 15 (yes, the day after Valentines, and no it was not a coincidence-- getting in shape is this year's gift to my wife). I'm down 10 lbs and my gut is two inches lesser. My strength and cardio are much better, can definitely tell a big difference when I jumped on the bicycle for the first time this year (this week).
I feel awesome. My goal is to not get "huge", but to be... toned. We'll see how it goes, so far so good! The official Bangshift garage door guru. Just about anything can be built using garage door parts, trust me.

Keep it up guys! Put a picture of the 'old' you on the bathroom mirror; it will help you keep energized and encouraged too. I'm steady at 168 to 170 pounds for over 2 months now. Think I've got it whipped.Ed, Mary, & 'Earl'

down to about 155. I was helping a friend haul 40 lb bags of salt to his water softener, and realized that's how much weight I'm not carrying around everywhere any more. Strange feeling. My fabulous web page

I was going to drag this thread back up a few days ago. All you guys hanging in there and still fighting the fight, good for you. I've been at it for ten weeks now, down 14 pounds and only have 26 to go. I'm already fitting into pants I haven't been able to wear in 4 years.Just groovin' to my own tune.

My wife is on an herbalife kick - I'm not into pushing products - but this stuff is working.
I gave up my jethro bowls of cereal for a "meal replacement" shake in the morning and I've been adding a scoop of protein powder and some fruit, it gets me by from ~7am to near 11am when I usually have lunch. I try to have fruit on an empty stomach when I'm feeling hungry instead of the usual snack foods.
The hardest part has been trying not to eat after dinner and if I do - eat something with protein - not sweets, popcorn, etc.
We are on a "21 day cleanse" now, and we're off pop and alcohol completely for those 21 days (or such is the plan) - we'll see how that works out - my wife has dropped 5lb so far, we have 8 days to go.
I'm down under 225 for the first time in a long time - I was over 240 for a while. I have not gotten into the gym yet - but - moving sure has kept me hoping - I'm still moving boxes and doing a lot of stairs. I try to do the 95 stairs in our building a couple times a week, sometimes a couple times a day. There's always something new to learn.
