"There has been some talk about the community using the facility as a motorsports facility moving forward, 'Beyond that, we really can't comment'"

Let's possibly guess that the owners of the property upon which the leasehold is held are thinking that maybe they'd do a little better money-wise, if they can kick the current people out and try to run a show themselves. Maybe in conjuction with a casino attraction?

Just throwing that out there. I really have no idea of the realities there and in fact have never been to Firebird, but I can tell you from the deal around here that Indian land means a different thing than it used to.

That is exactly what I'm thinking, Bondurant still has the driving school there, which is part of the same complex and no body is talking about them moving.... I think the Indians will revamp the place, they have been building casinos all around it and I bet they want to make the track more enticing to get more racing going on there and make all the money for themselves..... But for now the track is closing and hopefully it's doesn't go the way of the old concert place that was out there and just fade into the wind......

TC -- read the front page. Track is going nowhere. Cheap Charlie is getting thrown out on his behind and that was a parting shot.
That which you manifest is before you.

I know Brian, been keeping up with the local news here about it all..... The big question is are the Indians still going to have it open for TNT's and local racing series or are they just going to use it for big events......

Also the NHRA has not made a deal to keep it open yet, they are still in negotiations with the Gila River Indian Community and are "Hoping" for an agreement about the tracks future by the end of February......
