Funny video. I want one of those.

I remember charging a capacitor from a points ignition or an HEI, they throwing it to someone. Try catching one without touching the tip of the wire.

Every time I come in the room I have a ground I touch so I dont fry a computer. Got used to doing it on airplanes because I didnt want to blow up during refueling. Having dogs in winter makes it a bit more challenging. Always zapping something.

We had grounded wrist bands we had to wear when working on some of our instrumentation. Now I just get zapped!

Wouldn't you have thought this guy would have reshot the video WITHOUT the mistakes before he put it out on the Interwebs?

We have an "I hurt myself" thread around here some where.....

I have to wear one of those ESD wrist bands at work about 2 time a week but it's never that fun.

We also had a guy in the shop that thought it was fun to charge up ALL the capaciters in the stock drawer and repackage them for fun.

Worked great until the EMT's came in to transport one of the older shop workers out,Ben didn't die but the joke wasn't that funny anymore.

As for the video that was great!

I sure hope that was - supposed - to be funny.

we used to have a guy at work who got nicknamed 'smoke' because he could smoke a board so fast it was unreal. electric personality

try catching 2 of 3 phases 480 VAC when doing a phase to phase test because of moisture on the test leads...management in a big hurry during a rain storm...don't want to try that twice...

                          I remember that habit well.

480 was the voltage I learned not to place your finger on the bare probe with. Path was finger tip to back of hand, I couldn't move my fingers, rotate my wrist, bend my arm or raise it for 2 days, and half my chest felt like I was being sat on all the time.
