Red's developed a new feature since I've had him. This is interesting....
You close the driver's door (unlocked) and walk away. You can open and close the door as many times as you like, over and over. Let him sit like that for more than maybe 15 minutes, and when you pull the handle to open the door, the door comes open, but the locks come down.
I've learned to always let his driver's window down all the way when I park him in the garage, or I'll be locked out the SECOND time I go out there to open the door to put something in him or take something out.
This afternoon I was messing with a tail light, a blinker bulb that is intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. So I used the key fob to pop the trunk when I got home from work, went inside the house for a awhile and decided it was time to mess with the blinker light.
When I lifted the trunk lid, the doors locked. Unlocked the doors again.
That's weird. Took my time messing with the light and finally decided to test it out. It can't be the bulb, bulbs don't "work or not work." They burn out and are done. So that has to be a connection, in my mind at least.
So I went in the house after a while to get the keys and reached through the driver's (open) window to insert the key, turned on the switch and turned on the left turn signal to see what it would do.
When I turned on the turn signal the doors locked.
Go figure. I've just got to remember that's going on while I'm away from home, or I'd be toast, leaving the keys in the car or something.
