It's interesting to me that Tri-Five 'Birds were once cheap enough that folks would cut them up into race cars. Fun to see, though.

An action photo (I already put one in the burnout thread as well):

It is a 95 SC, last year for them, with a manual trans, 1 of 574 built that year. Had the car for about 10 years, sold it 5 years ago. Overall probably the nicest car I've owned, looked nice, great comfy cruiser, strong on the street and dragstrip, and could even be whipped around a road course when I was instructing. Lots of details on my Super Coupe Club of America member page:

Sold the car because the miles were getting up there on the original engine, never had the valve covers off and I was running quite a bit of boost through it. It was getting to the point where in the near future I was probably going to have to spend a fair chunk of money for a good engine refresh, and as mentioned I'd owned it for 10 years already. I was also at the stage where I was getting more involved with helping at track days, 15+ per season vs. the 3 or 4 I had done previously. With the rarity of the car, it would have been a shame to find a wall with it. That's why I moved on to a cheapy SHO Taurus for a few years, and am working on the 89 Mustang as a more suitable track day vehicle.

        cheers

Sweet! I go to TCCOA more than SCCOA, more stuff that's relevant to what I'm doing. Love my Bird, even though it only has the NA 3.8.

I had a black 91 ,seeing yours I should have kept it. It got all rusty on the bottom of the doors and the rockers. I took such good care of it too, always clean and waxed. Pissed me off that it got rusty thats why i sold it.

Mine was pretty clean, only winter driven the first 6 years of its life, and it had been undercoated as well. Rockers are the worst spot for rust on that platform, especially on the sunroof cars ... the drains go in to the rockers, and don't exit properly from there. They look great in black, really suits the style of the car, long, low, wide, wheels out at the corners.

I'm grabbing a high mile but clean 94 LX 4.6 to use as a DD. It is the electric current red, which is a nice colour too. I'll clean it up as best I can, throw some wheels & tires on it, and drive it. Would like to do more, but I already have the 66 T-Bird and the 89 Mustang to play with, I don't need another "toy".

              cheers

I'm partial to blue myself, and quite familiar with the rust spots on them.

It certainly complicates things, but opens the door for tubbing it.
