The 12.5 Russell bets a six pack thread

    Okay. Here it is -

    E7te heads
    E303 cam
    Performer 289 intake, 750 Holley.
    1990 Mustang LX
    Long tube headers
    T5
    3.27 gears

Russell doesn't think it will make the end of the strip, I think it will do it in 12.5.

Russell, I drink Keystone, but you have to deliver it. Six.cold.beers

I'll try not to cheat by putting a manual rack in it, I'll try even harder by really trying to put an A/C back in it but I can't promise I won't short belt it, use electric fans, or at worst and electric water pump.

    Deal?
    Pics at 11. I'm allowed a grinder.

seriously - I went 13.15 in a fox with a twisted wedge top end, stock short block, stock cam, 3.55 gears, bfg drag radials, T5 and a dummy at the controls.

if you can't get 12.5 out of any kind of optimized combination - you have not a hair on your azzzz

T5 huh? It might do 12's if it doesn't pitch 3rd gear out of the side of the trans.

Russell - I got your joke, my reply was one as well (won't make it down the track).

We've been debating the usability of E7te heads for anything but paper weights, and Russell also says the Performer is a truck manifold. I think you can put truck parts into the 12's in a Fox, a 12.5 is really reaching but I think you can do it.

I should ask for 4.10's, the T5 is handicap enough! Money's not really the question here, it's whether or not you can put a mostly stock Mustang into the 12's with nothing more than a piece of crap cam, headers, and some truck parts.

Ive seen a stock fox on honeycombs with NOTHING but 4.10s go 12.9.

Was a freak but any carbed 5.0 t5 should go 12.5

Edit: im unsure now. 3.27s and a regular performer... might as eell do shortys and a 650. This is slicks?

that was what started it - the E7's are for trucks comments. Also why I chose 12.5 because I've seen stock LX's on slicks go 12's with gears and a short belt.

They 750 is a vacuum secondary, if I had a 650 DP I would probably use it instead. I'm out of town this weekend but I'll bring the heads in out of the rain on Sunday.

Both the GT40's and GT40p's I have are in trucks already, Speedy. Truck parts indeed. lol.

As I sober up, I am thinking 4.10's would be better but this is for my street car so I'll leave it as 3.27's. The T5's 2.95 first and 4.10's means let the clutch out, shift.

Truth be told I don't care what jy head yor use E7 GT40 or P, but I do think it would be cooler with E7s on it! I have my fingers crossed I can make it to the 1/4 Sunday. I wish I had a well sorted out car!

I am gunning for 13's in the capri as cast P engine, E cam, steath, 600 eddy, open long tubes, T5, 3.73, used BFG DRs. STOCK suspension. I don't know what I would do with myself if it ran in the 12's

I need to check the P's and the long tubes I have... I'm not sure when our tracks open but I'd like to have this done by my birthday (Mid March) The reason I would like to use the E7's is because they are so maligned. I'd much rather use an Air Gap or Pro Products Crosswind, but that's the other part of it. Make the truck parts work. Lastly, I'd rather use an XE274HR than the E-cam but... yeah.
